Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for Week Ending December 20, 2009
Welcome to the CAS favorites weekly thread! If you favorited any cards this past week that you think are clean and simple, I invite you to share links to them here. We'd all love to see what we missed in the great big gallery this week. Also, if you get a chance, visit the cards linked here and leave some love in the form of comments. What a happy early Christmas present you can give someone!
Here are some of my faves for the week. I'm going to get this thread going tonight and come back tomorrow with the rest of my list...there are too many to do before I have to be at church tomorrow!
Biggan blows me away with every card, but her last Christmas card for 2009 totally rocked my world with its beauty and careful construction.
patsmethers combined flock and a great background treatment to make her simply OLC extra special
Kreations by Kris successfully combined an unexpected pair of in-colors for a Christmas gift box and card
ChristineCreations also used an unusual color for her lovely and elegant poinsettia card
tankgrl used subtle stamping to coordinate lots of different Christmas messages on a single card...the bling works beautifully, too
Bar used kraft, black, and white on her lovely snow card, and the button treatment is soooo cool!
KY Southern Belle made elegant and shimmery OLCs with heat embossing that exemplify CAS
marilynprestonn used some great details to make her season's greetings cards extra special
mjw used silver embossing, a bit of bling, and silver paper to make a fabulous holiday card all tied together perfectly with white and silver ribbon
angelahath posted a lovely and simple Christmas card that lets pretty dp take center stage
TheresaCC colored her log cabin image perfectly and then gave it a delightfully CAS backdrop
Bitsyboo made a very mod looking snowflake card that shines
mamamostamps used strips of stamped cardstock and a lovely ribbon to make her elegant thank-you card
jaydeestamping posted a very clean and simple sympathy card I just had to share with you, and she also used gold cord and embossed lines to kick her old olive parcel card up a notch!
keuby's heartfelt happy birthday card is totally fabulous in its use of background stamps and a 2x2 grid
debdeb used heart buttons with a fun telephone stamp on her cute Call Me card
Card Shark used Branch Out to make a lovely winter scene with cardinal
girlgeek101 posted a totally FABULOUS OLC with a curvy line of shimmered-up pines
Vervegirl's pink holiday card definitely scores a hit with excellent details and use of a nestie die
Inl96also used a 2x2 grid for a very different--and equally successful--look on her hooty hello card
fionna51 used kraft and torn white cardstock for the backdrop on her adorable snowman card
kmahany made a totally fun and curvy birthday card for a dude (why are those so hard?!?)
I was almost done posting this list when Internet Explorer froze up on me. :( Let's try again, because these cards are definitely worth a look-see!
CookieGroover integrates premade embellishments onto her cards with a skill I could never hope to attain, as her super-cool Be Merry card demonstrates
Schofield27 used two of my favorite PTI sets to make a gloriously CAS thank you card
alimarbles made a totally sweet card with SU soon-to-be-released product that I MUST HAVE now, darn her
ilinacrouse proves that you can have a lot on a card (two patterns, border punch, ribbon, button, twill) and STILL make it clean and simple with a fab monochromatic color scheme that harmonizes the parts beautifully
eliotstamps used bermuda bay and silver on her fresh and fun snowflake cards
MrsBoz used lots of texture (glitter, embossing, layers of white) on her very clean and pretty winter wonderland card
keuby paper piecing trees on a red background for festive effect on her Holiday Cheer card
rosigrld made a fun friendship curve on her kraft OLC, and then she used buttons to accent her lively circle thanks card

I'll be back in the morning to finish my list.
Thank you for mentioning my card, Susan!! What a great way to start the day! And thanks to k dunbrook for letting me know!
I was almost done posting this list when Internet Explorer froze up on me. :( Let's try again, because these cards are definitely worth a look-see!
Back later with even more favorites!
Don't you just hate it when computers "act up"! When I have to replace this one, the next one is a Mac. My laptop has never given me trouble (if you don't count a dying battery!)
Thanks for posting so many favorites, Susan. You find some that I miss! ;)
Wow!! Thanks Susan (lateblossom) for mentioning not just one, but both of my cards in her weekly favs and to Karen (k dunbrooke) for letting me know. What a great start to my day!!!

Woohoooo! I'm so excited! Thanks Susan for mentioning my card, and Karen for the shout back to this thread! I have been really trying to get better at CAS (it is not 2nd nature for me...I always want to add more!) and this is a nice reinforcement to keep working at it!
Thanks so much, Susan and Krista, for mentioning my Branch Out Cardinal card! I am so honored. I wasn't even sure it qualified as a CAS card - I don't do them very often. Wonderful way to start my day! Thanks, Karen, for letting me know. :-D

Thanks Susanand Diane for mention my cards!!
Im so grateful for your support!
Thanks to Karen also who send a PM to make me aware of it!
Youre all so kind and generous!
Ack! I got a shout-out from Susan! Thanks so much. I was so stinkin' busy getting caught up on uploads this week (yep, from Halloween until now), that I haven't spent time perusing. Now I will, though -- there's so much great stuff out there!
Thanks again!
I just love going through your list. Fun and gives us quite some inspiration too. Thank you for adding my little cards there too. Happy holidays to you and everyone.
Wow, this week's fave thread has been a challenge to finish! I'm sorry if any of these are repeats of other's favorites...I'm not going to have time to go through everyone else's until tomorrow PM. Sigh. I'll get to them! In the meantime, here are the last of mine.
krystie lee made Christmas cards this year (she wasn't sure she would)...I wish I were on her list!
StampGroover, as usual, used a premade embellishment with perfection on her Curvy Chipboard card
hobbywoman used curvy dp and buttons on her fun curvy card
Cindy H got her inspiration from storebought cards and made some gorgeous embossed Christmas cards
violin28 used a fun felt embellishment to make a warm and wonderful winter birthday card
k dunbrook awed me with white-on-white circles and a perfect green and red holly accent on her CAS45 card
Whew! Done.
Many thanks to all who are taking time in this busy holiday season to post in the gallery...there are so many fab CAS cards being posted!
Susan and KristaTracy!
