Whew! Ok, then. My problem is that I always have about 3 or 4 designs. I have 1..but no more. I try to use different sets. This year I am going to go with A Beautiful Season, It's Snow Time, Crazy for Christmas, and On Angels Wings (I think)

No, you are not the only one! Last year I waited so long I didn't have time to stamp cards. I rushed out to buy cards, and I NEVER even mailed them! I had to go to Wal-Mart in January and make "Happy New Year" cards with my kids' picture. The sad thing is, I just found New Year cards that were never mailed! If they didn't have 2004 on them, I'd be tempted to mail them this year.

I guess I can look at it like this: I already have my mass produced cards to send this year!

Rita,

I am in the same boat. I have plenty of stamped cards saved from last year when I didn't mail them.

The thing I get hung up on is the letter. I just don't know what to say and how to word it, so I just forget.

But this year, I'm going to really do it!

I have a few done because of my Demos monthly Christmas card camp, and few that I have done myself that's it though. Not even close to half of the cards I need to get done.

But isn't it more fun to do Christmas cards in November and early December? It seems more like a holiday event. A little hot chocolate and a Christmas CD playing in the background....

I refuse to believe I am behind at this point. If a week before Christmas I have not finished, then I will be behind!

Ho Ho Ho!

I have my 2 "prototypes' done and I've bought pretty much al the supplies. I told my DH the other day that I must be expecting Christmas Card Fairies to come in the middle of the night and actually make them, because I haven't even started.

So much for my goal of completing them in Sept. this year :?

Funny, right before I signed on, I was thinking, I should start thinking about what my cards will be. Last year I made them about a week before Christmas.

I have a couple ideas but I haven't actually made any Christmas cards yet. I figure as long as I mail them before Christmas, then I'm doing good. I don't care when people actually receive them.

I'm not a total loser though. My MIL is paying me to make five sets of 12 cards for her to give as Christmas gifts to her friends this year. I'm half done with them. Just ordered more paper yesterday. Come on UPS! Hurry to my door! [/b]

Your SIL must be an alien who has stamping super powers, that's my only reason becuase I think she's crazy to have them done already!!

We send ours out in January, so I don't even worry about them. I just do them when I fell like it. We also include a picture and newsletter. And since I do them all, I decided that I don't want to stress myself out by getting them out before Christmas - because it ain't gonna happen!!

Besides, the family and friends that we send them out to think it's fun to get something special after the Holidays, too!

Default Christmas card losers

You mean I'm not the only one who made all my extra cards from my Christmas Card Stamp Camp to send out and didn't send them out. That was LAST YEAR! I think I got the addresses on the envelopes on New Years Eve. By the end of January when I didn't have the letter drafted I said I would do a Christmas in July and send them out in the summer. Summer came and went and they're still here. Now I have to weed out the changed addresses. The sad thing is most of the birthday cards I had hoped to mail this year never got made. I have something about the writing the personal note.....then the long uphill walk to the mail box. Actually even if the mail box was outside my door.....I'd dread going to it. Now I love to receive mail in it, and enjoy stamped somethings even more in the mail box.....but to put something in it, aurgh.....must have something to do with most of the time it's needs the ones with bill payments first. Anyway, I only have to draft my letter for this year and change the changed addresses and I'll be done for this year.....ha ha ha. Ask me on December 31st!!!

Default re- christmas cards.

Well I have been making a little at a time when My son is in pre-k.Because that's the only time I can get them done.without him wanting to do some too.So I have about 28 done now.I just have to write the envelopes outs and put the stamps on them. Then once that is all set I can make more b- day cards for during the year.

I have also made some Thanksgiving cards out as well.once that's done I am going to start making up some bags and boxes for christmas.

Ohhh and did I forget to mention that all my chrismas tags are also made for the presents.I mean lots of colors too.not just 1 color.
Sorry don't mean to rub it in but if I don't start early it won't get done.I just started stamping this summer.and already have about 10 or more christmas stamps set.not including the single stamps that aren't SU.

The more I see on this site the more stuff I want to make.Going for the ornaments next.like the glass ball ornaments.so if any of you know how to make these can you please p.m. me the directions.thanks.

Once you get going you won't want to stop.So start those christmas cards.

Well - I have mine 1/2 way done - all 70 backgrounds are done and I just need to get the last layer on them and get all the cardstock attached then I am done! BUT the bad part is I started them in May - I borrowed one stamp and wanted to get it done and over with so I did that part and have not yet touched the rest....
I still want to get some Thanksgiving cards made, only about 10 or so, and I want to do all my tags and wrapping this year as well. I am thinking of wrapping in craft paper and using nice ribbon to tie with and of course my hand stamped tag!
We shall see what really gets done!!!

I am not rubbing inhere, I promise...just letting you all now what works for me
As a demonstrator I feel like my Christmas cards are an advertisement for my business...so I want them to look great. Last year I finished them and had them mailed out the day before Christmas...I was not pleased with myself. Well, 2 of my cousins handed out theirs at Christmas, also feeling a bit unpleased with themselves. We vowed not to let it happen that way this year and planned on sometime int eh summer getting together to do our cards. (We only see each other at Christmas, the Spring reunion so late summer seemed ideal to visit and stamp!)
We got together the very end of July and boy did we have fun!
I got all 40 family cards done as well as 40 "business" ones done. I still need to do the letter for the inside of the family one, but I type that out onto the computer in two colums and slice it in half and it is the base card....so I guess I don't have those 40 done, they are just fronts at this point ;)
I hated last year that I was hleping everyone out and didn't take time to do my own and this year I hope to breeze through helping out everyone else I know that is stressing!

I usually send out about 40 cards....last year I made them all ~ NEVER again!! Too much stress on me!

This year - family and closest friends. Mind you.....this year I'm also going through my address book and weeding out the ones who've not sent a card in the past couple of years.....last year I spent over $45 on Xmas postage for cards/small packets alone.....argh!

I haven't started yet either - on purpose. My sister comes over for the weekend. We start Friday night, stamp, talk, sleep, get up on Saturday and do it again. Go out for lunch, shop a bit and then finish up. We learned from our mistakes last year - limiting to 1 or 2 designs as last year everyone got a different card. This year people at work are getting 4x6 calendars (card for every month) so no actual Christams card - well, maybe the special people. The card making doesn't start until after Thanksgiving - so I'm not even stressing YET!

Default CHRISTMAS CARD LOSERS

I have to say I agree with MaryMary about sitting down with a cup of hot chocolate and Christmas music on and doing the cards. Just makes me get much more "in the mood". This is my first year stamping but I weasled out and signed up for a Christmas Card Camp. We will end up making about 50 cards each. I just know myself well enough to know I would never get them finished otherwise. Have a great week everyone.

Hannukah comes before Christmas this year, so I'm even more behind! My friend and I are mass producing shaker cards that will cover all the Happy Holidays. We've got the design and are going to make them when the MD, PA, DE VA stampers get together in a couple of weeks.

I'm probably half done too. I just figured out what I want to do (after making a million prototypes) Everything is cut out I just need to finish putting them together.
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I also do a letter and a family picture. We are taking the picture this weekend when my DS comes home from college for a visit. I like to have it all mailed out the first week in December. So I still have plenty of time to finish doing all the other projects I have planned for gifts. That is my plan as of now...we will see.

Well I still need to do the family pic (this year may be a kids pic!) and the letter - Thanks for the reminder!!! LOL!

It never takes me too long to do the pic or the letter I just get out the digital camera and dress the kids in something nice stick them in front of the tree and off I go to Rite Aid to print them out! At least this is what I did last year! That reminded me I need to go and get some more ink for the printer! I guess I will stamp on the letters too so that just added some more to my to do list!!! OH my I am getting tired just thinking of all I need to do!!!!

I have an upline swap, MN SCS shoebox swap and swaps for Regionals to get through before I can even THINK about my Xmas cards. Ugh! Somehow it will all come together. (At least that is what I'm telling myself. LOL!)

I have mine done by July 4th. Start on them right after Easter cards. Not this year, 'though, because of my accident. It's difficult to do ANYTHING one-handed, including tying your shoes.

I have promised myself that this year I will actually send out my cards, last year I signed all fo them and adressed and sealed the envelopes and they just set there....oh well....I WILL do better this year.
