Default Christmas Card help

The image I have chosen for my christmas cards this year has a snowman in it and I have no idea how to color it. I am planning on using prismacolor pencils to color the rest of the image but I am totally at a loss as for what to do with the snowman. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

how about shading lightly with a combo of light blue and light gray? that is supposed to bring out the white. at least worth a try!

I've used 20% French Grey around the edges and blended in. Then I apply a light coat of Diamond Stickles over the whole surface. I'm doing small design with snowmen. It's the Festive Favorites set.

Here's a snowman I have colored for Christmas cards.

I stamped him on whisper white cardstock (Stampin' Up) and colored only certain areas of his body with Prismacolor pencils: 904 Light Cerulean Blue. It's hard to tell in the picture but I put the blue in the shadowy areas or where there are "hash marks" on his body.

Around the outside of the snowman I used the light cerulean blue and PC949 Metallic Silver for shading.

ETA: I cropped the photo to see whether it makes the coloring more apparent.

Thanks...I had thought about the gray but I wasn't for sure and i really like the way the blue makes the cards look. I will try both until I find a way that I like I do still have some time until they have to be ready.
