Looks like the Almost Amethyst cardstock is due for a little tweaking! The larger sheet is from a multipack I bought a couple of years ago after the new-style pads were introduced and the colors changed slightly (I don't really use this color all that much), and the smaller piece came from the full pack I just ordered last month. I pulled out the older sheets so I could use them up now that I have a full pack in a more recent shade, but I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere NEAR this different!

It's been the top color for some time, which I really like using. I threw away all the old, funky, grayish-purple ones. Not only was the color wierd, the texture wasn't as nice as the newer one, either.
Oh, my! That IS quite different! You are VERY SURE that one of these didn't have a wrong label on it??? Maybe the older, larger one faded some over time??? YIKES!! Guess you won't be using those on the same card after all, huh?

I'm positive the old one didn't fade. I keep my cardstock packs in the wrappers, and store the packages in one of those cropper supply totes. The amethyst was toward the inside, so it hasn't been exposed to light. I guess I don't mind too much, since the really pale color was one of the reasons I never used the three sheets from the assortment. The new color is a better match with the Mint Melody that I'm planning to use (which is also much more saturated than it used to be!).

Actually, the color on top is the original color. The larger sheet was the "tweaked" color which we all complained about vociferously. SU changed it back to the original color.
I wish that they would go back to the pale bliss blue, and I have also complained about that color. I don't care if the color was "off" the color they are using now, the "new" bliss blue is almost the same color as ballet blue.
I know that at least 12 of the SU cardstock colors changed over the past couple years and I still had some that were older sheets. There was a big change in a lot of the colors from the old colors but I do like most of them better. Since I've been a demo, the colors have changed 3 times....either they changed them just a little and not too noticable or very dramatically different. When they changed the manufacturers of our cardstock is when we saw the most change happening. Change is good!

Wow, that's interesting. I wish they'd go back to the more "subtle" Bliss Blue and Mint Melody, as well. Sounds like we all need to fuss again. It worked before!

Geez, Louise - I thought it was me!
I had the exact same problem. I was sorting out all of my paper to put in my paper shelves, and I have several shhets of this "mutant" grayish, bluish, purpleish weird color. I know it's SU paper, I took it out of the plastic wrapper with our Logo on it!
OK - well, at least I know I'm not alone - or crazy!
Funny, I was just holding some Almost Amythest in my hand while checking the messages -- mine is almost white it is so light -- and it has been in a drawer, so no chance of fading, it is part of a subtles pack of those scrapbooking ones we had, 8x11 with the inside cut out. Was trying to decide whether to use Lavendar Lace or Almost Amythest for a wedding invite -- she wants light purple, and Lavendar Lace almost seems too dark, but the AA almost seemed too blue or white or well, nothing!!!
