This week the inspiration is looking at a collection of surf board art pieces, these are amazing show-stoppers. ( If I had one I'd be tempted to sit and stare at it for hours rather than risk it in the salt water)
It looks like Anita is hosting the TLC this week with a fancy fold she made up special for DTGD a few years ago, the thread cross references the DTGD thread (so, your membership may need to be active for you to see the directions?) (not sure because, mine is so, I see it but, we used to hit snags with the favorites of the week if people linked to a dirty gallery sometimes.)

Full directions are in the TLC thread, available for everybody. I think she just linked to the older DTGD one for extra inspiration.
So we certainly have some fun color choices for today. Bright Colors or All White! Will you play in both or just one? If you can only choose one which color combo are you drawn to the most?
I really love the CC. I would make a watermelon card with those colors but I am also drawn to an all-white design. How about you?
Happy Belated Canada Day to all of you celebrating that this weekend and Happy Independence day to all of you celebrating that one tomorrow.
This weeks Featured Stamper has been shared as Rae. bobcat that is FS752 {7/4/21} Love the Bobcats by nwilliams6 at Splitcoaststampers
What comes to your mind when you read: Some Like it Hot? Would it be colors that inspire you, hot sauce, heat embossing or something else?
A song comes to my mind...and next I think, "Why on earth do they like it hot? What is wrong with them?!" As we endure triple digit heat here, I wish for fall and winter! LOL
We are also under a heat advisory here and my son has flown home with the intentions of having a yard sale for real ( tomorrow ) for 5 hours. (he has actually been vaguely promising this for the last 7 years lol) Hubs is so excited he can walk through the upstairs in the barn again.
Its crazy how much stuff there was to sort through. ( we are all sentimental) so, hopefully it goes well for him.
The largest fire in Oregon is burning in the county I live in and is currently about 2 miles from my Aunt and Uncles home ( they are still at home, she is a dog breeder and they have one dog who is expecting to have her litter next week and one that is in heat so, they are home and watering the heck out of everything at the moment, if you could keep these families & fire crews in your thoughts it would be appreciated)
(this is in the 50 miles away range from my house but, smoke is bad here can't sleep so, thought I would take a peek at some pretty distractions)
Oh, Stacy, please keep us posted. 2 miles is just too close when it concerns fire. Oh, the smoke. I feel for you. Years ago there were fires in FL. A very long way from us but the smoke burned my throat for weeks. I can't imagine having to try to breathe through smoke so much closer.
**
Catherine, I am with you. I don't like triple-digit heat. I don't care for summer when it hits the high 80s and high humidity.
Stacy, I also think of the movie. I love Classic movies but I have never been able to get through Some Like it Hot. Not sure why.
well, my step moms parents home ( they are both gone now but, the home was a few miles north of my Aunt & Uncles may be gone)(as someone they know had the home next door to the stepgrandparents place is gone) but, as far as I know they (my family that actually still lives there) are still OK.
the worst part is, this was a set fire.
and the fire crews were told to let it burn. (and now its beyond huge)
I am so over this, hurricane season looks like a lesser evil every year.
Thinking of you and your families who live where the fires are. It’s shocking when they are deliberately lit. We have our fair share of those here during our summer. Once a volunteer firemen lit a fire deliberately.
I'm a little late but here’s a challenge posted in the MMJ thread on making an art journal using magazines. The next challenge will be Nancy’s on the 15th on making an ATC. Hope some of you join us.

It's nerve wracking for certainly sure. ( I have lost my voice) which is slightly funny because, I am really introverted in person and actually do not talk that much.
Update on my family, they were safer on Sunday than on Saturday. now the fire is about 3-4 miles from their home. (they are still there) and they do have a second home in the city where I live and their travel trailer is packed for a just in case situation. the fire crews are digging roads to create fire blocks and that seems to be working at the moment. the fire is going against the wind.
That is so scary and frustrating, Stacy. Both that the fire was arson and that the fire crew was told to let it burn. Is this the Bootleg Fire that is near you? I'm sure the smoke did a number on your voice.
So sorry to hear you and your family are affected by that fire. As a SoCal person, I know all too well what that's like although I have never had to evacuate. Prayers to you all and e-Hugs.
we were only on standby for one last year but, so far where I live is not on an evacuation notice for the bootleg fire.
I think it was worse last year with all the covid lock downs. One of my Aunts lives in Jurupa Valley near Riverside and they were so stressed out. ( but, OK) my grandparents lived in Placentia for a long time. ( more than half my life) so, it makes me smile when I see that under your smile Debbie. Because, I was born in Fullerton
Oh, wow! That is just terrible that the fire was deliberately lit and then the firefighters were told to let it burn. Grrr.
Yeah, where I live hurricane season is easy to get through and we don't have to deal with fires, Just lots of electrical storms. In 30 years we never had a tornado hit our area until earlier this year. The tornado was on the ground for an hour and wow did it wreak havoc on the very old trees and changed the look of our town. Worst of all it hit the poorest part of our town and wiped out homes.
What was the last challenge you participated in? What did you like about it?
My last challenge was yesterday, Watercolor Wednesday.
I just love watercolor. I especially love seeing what happens with wet on wet. This was a fun project because it starts wet on wet and then builds up with a bit more detail but it's still abstract.
