Question CASED Cards

Hi -

I've been stamping for close to 1 1/2 now. I have a problem coming up with ideas of my own and I have a ton of cards in my favorites. But I like to to CASE someone else's work because I'm not sure what kind of credit to give them.

Can anyone give me a suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd just put "Inspired by..." or "CASEd from..." in my comments if I posted it in the Gallery. If you're making the card to give to someone else, I honestly don't think any additional credit is necessary... if selling, I wouldn't sell a CASEd card. But everything is inspired by something, right?... so I think selling "inspired" cards is OK. Trust your conscience as to where the line is between inspiration & copy.

Just my $0.02!

Depends on your point of view I guess. I CASE a lot of cards. I also put in the comments who I CASEd from. A lot of times, I start out CASing and end up putting a lot of my own ideas in, so it's more of Inspiring. That's why the cards are posted, to help everyone. Don't be afraid to CASE, just give credit where it's due.

Thanks, Debbi. The SCS gallery is so amazing - so many talented stampers. I have gotten lots of ideas and inspiration from them.

I try to put in my comments who I cased from or who inspired me, but I only do it for the purposes of this gallery. But, I definitely wouldn't submit a cased card for publication purposes, but then again I've never even tried to submit a card for publication (and probably never will).
I know that I read someone's description one day and she had put that one aspect of her card was inspired by me, and it made me feel so good to know that someone else thought I had an idea worth imitating!
But it also wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone totally cased me and didn't give me credit. I am just glad to share ideas with people, and I am glad if they can use them.

I would definatly give credit in the gallery if I cased a card. I guess I'm more thinking about when I send them out. Like if I were to send a CASED card to another stamper ....Thanks for the replies already.

Also - if you are like me and KNOW you ahve seen it here but can't find it....

Just then put in your comments "CASED of a talented SCS artist"!!!!

Someone else said that she starts a card as a CASE but changes it - totally becomes an "inspired by"!!!

Smiles
