I cleaned out my scrap drawer last and I am wondering what do you do with all of your scraps? I had a whole drawer full of them and sorted them by size and only kept the larger pieces that I can still use for cards. Iam wondering though what everyone else does. Do you keep all of your scraps and if so how do you use them up? Thank
I go back and forth on this, right now unless it is SU, CTMH or Bazzill, I throw out the scraps! I have a box full of scraps. I spend more time digging than I do stamping! I think many people here store the scraps with the full size sheets.

It seems I save ever bit of scrap. I just recently took all my punches and punched a bunch of scraps. Put those in baggies by color and now I have tons of fun to play with on a card or page.

I store mine in gallon ziploc bags one for each SU color. Non Su and patterned paper is sorted by color one bag for solids and another bag for patterns by color.
I make tags with my smaller scrap pieces. They are easy to store in baggies that way. Here's a card I posted yesterday using a stamped scrap SC149_Holly_Gift_by_stampincuzILuv2 by stampincuzILuv2 at Splitcoaststampers
With the holidays so close you could punch a ton of tags and have them ready for all your gift giving needs. I also give altered tins full of assorted tags as gifts to friends and family.

I put all my scraps in gallon size ziplocs by color family. If the piece is too small for a layer I punch it unless it's WW or VV. I save those ones because I typically stamp on it before punching.

Anything smaller than an inch square goes in the garbage, anything smaller than 2 inches square goes to my daughter for her crafts. The rest are thrown in a box where I don't remember to look. lol!
I have my cardstock in file folders, so when I have a scrap I put it in the folder towards the front. When I make a card and need a color, I check my scraps first to see if I have what I need. Over time I have learned to chuck those smaller pieces....I used to feel guilty about it, but I never did use them anyways. I do like Dobby's idea of giving the smaller scraps to my kids.
I store mine by color in gallon size ziplock bags. It makes it so much easier than just having them in a pile.
This is what I do as well (except I only have one per color family which is a bit harder to dig through) but they all fit in a large Sterlite basket and sit on my shelf so I can easily grab them! Use them all the time... no more guilt about wasted scraps!
I donate mine to the recycling bins at our library. If they are big enough for a layer, I keep them. Otherwise, they're out of here. I have no room as it is and I never seem to use them.
I have a crop-in-style thingy that holds hanging file folders and I have a folder for each color (mixing brands). I don't save really small pieces anymore. I'm in the habit now of always checking there first unless I need a whole sheet. Patterned paper gets a drawer, all mixed together. I find I like it that way. Sometimes I get inspired by mixing companies, etc. that I wouldn't do if I had them seperated.
i have an longaberger boardwalk basket under my main table and it has 12x12 page protectors in it that are sorted by color, so there is an whole sheet of solid colored cardstock inside each one and on one side of it is printed paper scraps in that color and the other side is various cardstocks. These do not have much in them anymore though recently i went through it all and cut a whole bunch of it down to quarter sized sheets and moved those to a drawer on the desk to stamp on, and then the odd strips ( like 3X6 or 2.5 x 5 ) I have scored and folded the strips to make little gift tag type enclosure cards from scraps with. so i have been trying to make cards from the newest scraps i make rather then trying to "put them away" ( there are some photos of the recent tiny cards on my blog)
I use the flat larger cello bags, sharpie the color name on the top, sort by shade, then put in a plastic shoe box. I can just flip thru them that way. I'm getting ready to purge though cuz it's out of control stuffed.
I put my scraps in the front of the file folder with its color. I punch the little scraps with small punches to use as confetti in some of my cards, kids especially like this.
I have 2 three drawer clear drawers stacked on top of each other. The kind you buy at any Target or WalMart. They are about 14 inches long and about 10 inches wide. I only buy SU as I am a Demo but I have one for Neutrals one for each of the four color families and one for designer papers. I love that when I am working with a specific drawer that I can pull it out and set it on my table. Everything is contained and because the drawers fit under my table they are always handy so I use them.

Anything at least 1/2 sheet goes back in with my full sheets. I use these all the time.
For the smaller stuff, I got some of the cardboard 8 1/2 x 11 magazine organizers from the Container Store (IKEA has them, too). I lay them on the long side so it is easy to rummage. I keep anything I think I can use as a layer, and sort them by color - Greens, Blues, Purples....and Neutrals.
I have all the boxes lined up on a shelf, and when I need a scrap of a color, I grab that box and pick out what I need. This keeps me from cutting into virgin card stock when I do not need to.
I do periodically purge the smaller stuff, so I think I am down to 'anything larger than 2x3 stays', everything else goes.

Thats what I do to, and it's the easiest way I've found for storing them yet. That way the scraps are in with their own color, so no digging.
How about cutting them up and making those ornaments with the paper curls inside....that would be a fun use of some of them...Give them to your stamping and scrappin' pals.....
I have a notebook with page protectors that have the SU color name on each protector and it holds any scrap smaller than the original 8 1/2 x 11. I even put small scraps that are big enough to use a flower punch or tag punch. I can't tell you how many times I was able to save a full sheet by doing this. It's also nice when you want to play with colors and you can use a scrap. For non SU, I just have a box that I toss them in and use when needed.
I keep my scraps that are usable... for all smaller pieces I just toss them out.
I store my scraps in file folders and I'm a little nuts about having everything organized... I run each full size c/s through my printer adding the color name and brand for the tab label. I keep a separate box with file folders for CTMH, SU and Bazzill that are for scraps only.
