I'm in need of some sort of storage for cards I've made.
Currently, I have an acordian type storage box but it's getting too full to close.
How do you store yours?
Pics, please, if you have them.
Thanks,
Julie B.
Don't have a pic of it, but I often use those cool boxes that you buy to store photos in. They often sell these at Michaels, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby....anywhere from 4.99 down on sale to $2; The smaller size cards fit in these pretty easily, they stack up nicely on the shelves and you can group the cards the way they should go.
I use the photo boxes from Michaels (unfortunately, they are a little short since they are made to fit 4" photos instead of 4.25" cards). I also use those plastic shoe boxes that you can get at Target for $1-$2. I use them for taking supplies to classes and for holding my extra cards and swaps.
I use opaque snap together boxes, similar to the boxes you can get from SU, but I think mine are actually Karen Foster brand. They're sorted by theme.
I also use some of the 'straight sided' (as opposed to wide at the top/narrow at the bottom) plastic boxes from WMart. The kind that have the handles that roll up/over the ends of the lids to keep the lids in place.
I buy my spinach and field greens in large rectangle clear plastic boxes at the supermarket. When I've finished eating the greens, I wash out the box and use it store my cards in by catagories. Free and recycled. Gotta love it.

I use the 'Kasett' boxes from Ikea - the ones that are designed for CD's. They come two per pack, and they are easy to assemble. They stack well and since they are designed for CD's, standard A2 sized cards can go in either portrait or landscape. I sell my cards at a market, and this is what I do to transport them all the time. I find them quite sturdy. They have a label holder on the front as well, which makes finding things quick. The other thing that I like about them is that they are opaque, so your cards won't get damaged by sunlight - mine sit outside at the market, and the sun bleaches the colours really fast. This prevents that!
I also use the photo boxes. I love them. They are the perfect size and look very pretty on my shelf. I have bought them at Michaels and at Target. The Target ones were on clearence, 2 for 2.99.
I usually use those photo boxes from Michaels and Joann’s, but I'll wait until they are on sale. Lately I've also used shoe boxes that are about the same size as the photo boxes. The boxes can stack on top of each other and store easily.
I was wondering what I was going to do with the 2 CD box's I have in pink, going to clean them out as no one has used those disc's in a long time. I also have 4 photo box's also in pink and I was thinking of transfering the photos to new box's. So now I have lots of card storgae. thanks for the great idea.

I just use the photo boxes a shop Kmart in Aust (not sure if its in US or what its equivalent is) sells snap together ones (much like Su's) in black or white and heaps of sizes makes everything look uniformed (i use them for storage of bits in a bookshelf) and all tidy
No pictures, but I use either photo or shoe boxes, and sort them according to what they are for. One for ones with sentiments (sorted by category), one for those with no sentiments, one for Christmas and one to use for RAKs and Birthday RAKs.
Hi
I noticed most of the replies were from USA - so here in the UK - I buy the flatpack storage boxes from Poundstretcher or similar shops. They come in A4, slightly bigger, & CD size. Also useful for storing many other crafting items too. They have the little metal file tab behind which you can place a card with the contents written on it.
I have just been re-organising (sounds better than tidying :p) my craft room & have found them most useful - I actually know where things are now. Long may it reign.:p
OMG I wish I had enough cards made up to worry about storage!!
LOL.....you will! Give it time, I've been stamping for over 5 years now and I have quite a supply of cards (even after I have given tons away to my family, friends, and as gifts.
I just thought I should mention that the photo boxes we are talking about are on sale this week at AC Moore. They are 5 for $10, which is a great price!

They come in four colours, and here in Canada they are 4.99 for 2
I have eight, but need more! (oh, and depending on how bulky your cards are, you can fit up to about 100 decent sized cards in a box with Envies)
Hope that helps!
Great minds think alike. I'm taking my first trip to Ikea today. These boxes were on my list for just that....storing cards. I'm also planing on storing my 6X6 patterned paper in them as well.
I am using a spinning card rack like you would see at a stationary store. Stopped by a shop that was closing and they just gave it to me. Try asking around.....
My card storage boxes are free. I buy my envelopes in boxes of 250. When the envelopes are gone, they are perfect for my card storage. Before I had used that many envelopes, I used shoe boxes.

I'm with eyestich.....nothing fancy; I just repurpose my envie boxes! They are the perfect size (after all, it's what the envelopes came in!) and they're the perfect size to fit on my shelves. If I put the lid on, I can even stack the boxes.
HTH,
Kat

I store them with envelopes in clear plastic baggies from uline.com then I put them in square baskets. Also I sell my cards at a few shops so they are always ready to go. Or if I want to mail one I have a matching envelope ready too. I keep an unorganized pile of cards I plan to submit and when i have a box full I type up supplies and instructions, send them of and hope for the best LOL! Here is a link to the bags I bought, they come in lots of 1000 so if you can go in with some friends it is a good price, that is what I did. I find I use the 6"x9" and 7"x7" bags the most. Also these are FDA approved safe so you can use them for treat and favor packaging too. They are the best quality I have found, they do not tear like the ones I have ordered from stamp companies in the past, the only downside is that you have to get 1000 and the shipping will run $10+ so try and order everything you need at once

Oh I need to find a way to store mine....currently they are in about 4 of those heavy cardboard photo boxes and spread around the kitchen, in my bedroom, here at work next to the printer and in a pile under my desk, and some are in my car and some are on the entertainment center in the living room.....
let me start by saying that YES I am bragging a bit, my DD bought me a card tree(carosle, wow can't spell) that you used to see in stores so I use that. Before that I had a plastic drawer that was the same size as cards and just used that and made dividers(birthday, sympathy, get well) so I wouldn't spend alot of time looking for a certain type of card
I purchased a pattern-holder cabinet from a fabric store. Five drawers - each drawer has three sections.
I use the top drawer for my finished cards (each in their own clearbags.com). I have enough finished cards to stand them on their ends so people can just page thru to see them. I have Turkey-Day, Xmas, and Halloween in one section; Baby, Wedding, Just a Note, Thinking of You, Masculine, and non-message cards in another section; and the last section holds the clear bags, Thank-Yous, Happy Birthday, and box-sets.
The next drawer down is full of envelopes - sorted by color and size (mostly A-2).
The next two drawers have pre-cut/folder cards with envelopes. (Just grab and stamp.)
And the bottom drawer holds skeins (?sp?) of yarn/fiber to put on cards.
(Don't even get me started on my paper storage.) :-)
I wish I knew who to give credit to but I saw someone used an over the door shoe holder and sorted the cards in those by greeting - Birthday- Get well etc. SO I rushed out to buy one and got one that was mesh...it doesn't work, the edges get caught so don't buy one of those!!
I use one of those turning things that have clips (I put each card in a see through bag). I can't thing of what they are called. Each card hangs neatly and the rack spins around. It works wonderfully
I also use the plastic containers. I get mine from Sam's with the Organic Mixed Greens. They are the perfect size and I use them for alot of things in my craft room. They stack good too. REUSE< RECYCLE.
Becky:
I use 3-ring binders and page protectors from Century photo - you can fit 4 full cards or 8 card fronts into each page protector. I have at least 10 binders full and my customers LOVE to look at them. When it's time to donate cards to a good cause or give someone a birthday card, I just go to my binders. The troops don't care if the stamps are retired! <g>

renew, reuse, recycle mine are stored in the boxes heartworm tests come in at work! I have them separated by event or season for those that don't take up an entire box.
(Easter, Mothers and Fathers Day would be one season and Valentine, wedding and anniversary would be in the love season!)

Same here. I do however have about 4 or 5 photo boxes filled of cards I have gotten over the years in swaps. I need to go through them and get rid of ones I know I will never use or copy. Then maybe I can start making enough new ones to fill at least one of the boxes.
Thank you. I have been looking for these sheets in this size to no avail. I use them to
keep my samples. I keep my cards to send or give away in a decorative Hobby Lobby photo storage box.
