Default Card fronts done

I've been making Christmas cards for the last month and wasn't sure I had enough because I thought we sent out about 75-80 cards. I counted yesterday and I have 81 fronts made; now to the insides. THEN I checked the mailing list and only needed 50!!!! How did I overshoot the estimate? Oh well, now I need to quit looking at all the beautiful creations in the gallery.

Assuming your 81 cards are not all the same design, just think of the head start you have for next year.

You could put them on bases and donate the cards. I think there are posters on line here who collect cards for Ronald McDonald House and OWH. It may be too late for OWH Christmas cards, but the other charity might be able to use them this year.

If youre organized, you save them and send them as finished cards to Operation Write home in 2011. Personally, I'd either forget about them or misplace them. LOL

- I did that last year. I don't know where I miscalculated, but I gave my spares to a friend, who was delighted to have them. I haven't started addressing yet, so I don't know if I over-estimated again this year.

You might give them to a friend who is going through a tough time and may not have time to make or buy some this year. You may even want to help her address the envelopes, too. I did this one year and my friend "reminds" me of it every year as she has never forgotten it.

Sell the extra 30! I sell holiday card packs at work and at church. People look forward to them all year!

I will take the extras. I have not started on my cards yet. I am usually in the final stages by now and this year I have nothing. I am starting to think there won't be cards this year. And of all things, I feel guilty. How weird is that!

I never make Christmas card any more. In order to get them all done, I have to start in July. Then by the time December rolls around, I either don't like them any more or my technique has improved so much that I can't bring myself to send them. So, gasp! I always send store bought cards (usually the ones from snapfish with pictures of my kids) (who, by the way, are much cuter than anything I could create!). But, for you, what a wonderful problem to have!
