Do you make your own or buy blank ones? For whatever reason, I am pretty good at making cards (or card fronts) but do not attach them until needed or have a whole bunch to do. Thanks.
Mixed bag here. I make basic ones but I have bought some fancy folds to see if I like them before investing in expensive dies to make them. Or not. I might feel like making it here and there but not enough so a pack would hold me for awhile. Depends on the fold-some are intricate and require a lot of work with lots of layers. One I will probably keep as a template to cut my own in the future.
I usually make my own especially A2 size but I have some A7 in both white and ivory. I have purchased patterned before and they sit unused. I also used some Kraft precut last year for my Christmas cards to help shorten the process of mass production.
I do both. When the pre-made blanks are on sale at the big box stores, I stock up. I usually use them when I'm in a hurry (i.e. I forgot to make a birthday card), or if I'm making a bunch of cards at once (e.g. Christmas cards).
It depends on the size, to be honest. square cards I buy ready made blanks for. Often I will use an A4 sheet folded as a card base, or if I can get two from a sheet then I do my own. I end up with enough off cuts as it is, so if ready made are good enough quality, and I can't do them without making more waste, then thats the way I go.
All of the above! I make most of my own but I also am on the lookout for pretty blank note cards from thrift stores or Goodwill.
They aren't always very sturdy but by the time I add my layers, they're fine. Then I have a ready made bottom layer and match my colors to the fronts and maybe even a middle layer. Besides they always come with envies, too.

I make my own card bases. I have the card stock, why waste money on something I all read have.

BTW, talking about card bases, I've been so pleased with Michael's 110# white cardstock for the last couple years. It's cheap, and so nice and heavy. But for the last couple months I haven't bought any more from M's, because it has a DEFINITE grey cast to it now, and has a "dirty white" look to it. Has anybody else noticed this at their store?
I do both. I bought some at one of the big box stores that were very economical. I liked them as they were colored (and some where textured) on the outside but white on the inside. They were on sale and I think I got 50 or 60 of them along with envelopes for $5.00. I even bought some that were gold and silver.

I understand that the paper is now made in China instead of Texas. If your lucky enough to find any that was made in Texas I would buy it. There white layer weight is awful now too.
