I am going to be giving a gift of a tote with six cards in it; besides b-day and thank-you cards I am at a loss as to what to include. When you give an assortment of cards as a gift, what type of cards do you include?
When I give card sets, I usually make mostly Thank You, Happy Birthday and Thinking of You. Then I usually include one Get Well and one Sympathy. Sometimes I add a congratulations, anniversary or new baby card, depending on the recipient.
I think it would totally depend on who your giving the gift to.
Everyone I give gift sets to always has a new baby coming up so I always include a new baby card, congratulations, birthday, thinking of you, and then a couple Holiday cards like Christmas, Easter and a Fall themed card.
Or you can be very generic and put a sentiment on there that really has no specific meaning like from the new "priceless" and "fabulous flowers" set......because really what kind of situation calls for the sentiment "dare to be fabulous"? None I can think of, but it's still nice!:-D
I didn't read the above posts, but a set of 6 cards for me would include:
-happy birthday
-thank you
-thinking of you
-love/anniversary/wedding
-all occasion (blank)
-sympathy or get well
I do the usual b'day, get well, thinking of you, thank you, congratulations, baby, sympathy. Many people don't think of sympathy in an asst. but I made a bunch of cards for my daughter one year and she had used the sympathy before she did the others. Usually when you need a sympathy card it is like "I need it now" and people would have it and not have to shop for one.

I have made a few gift card assortments where I have made the cards and then stamped various sentiments on separate pieces of cardstock that can be attached to any of the cards - then the gift receiver just attaches the sentiment that they wish to use on whatever card they wish to use, using strips of tape or dimensionals, that I also include in a little cello bag.
I use "Thinking of You" for both sympathy and get well cards and then write a note inside. To me it's more personal. Somehow "With Sympathy" seems cold to me, but that's just me.

True, but it must be the 'right' thinking of you card. Sometimes my thinking of you cards are too bright and cheery, that they don't seem like a sympathy card. I feel sympathy cards should be simple and subdued, where thinking of you cards don't have to be. JMO.
When I am invited to a baby shower, Bridal shower or any kind of shower, I present a gift of cards, decorated envelopes and postal stamps to th honored guest. It is so fun to make "thank you for the Baby gift "cards for Boy or girl if I know what the sex is. "thank you for the shower gift is exciting for creating: Ican use umbrella- weather theme or Bride themes for the thank you card. Several reciepients have stated their appreciation of these gifts of cards. I try to get postal stamps to go with the theme also/
