I need a candy free Valentine craft ideas for my sons kindergarten class. He cannot take candy to school. I also need an idea for my other sons 2 year old room. Last year I did playdoh with Valentine tags.
For the kindergarten class, Ive thought about incorporating pencils. Right now Im leaning toward making bookmarks.
How about cute sleeve over a bag of microvawe popcorn -- "Just popping by with a Valentine Hi." Or little bottles of hand sanitizer -- "Love you too much to think of you getting sick." Chapstick? "Pucker up, Valentine!" Safety scissors? "Valentine, you are a cut above the rest!".
Do you need a craft project that kindergarteners can do, or do you need a craft project FOR kindergarteners that you can make? It wasn't clear from the post. If you're looking for craft projects for kids, you can probably google that and find a hundred ideas! Mailbox magazine is a great resource for teachers who work in early childhood ed, and they always have fun craft ideas. Love bugs are always cute to make, and they appeal to boys and girls at that age. Lots of foam fabric hearts, googly eyes, and let the kids get creative. They could be used to top a bookmark or pencil or adhere to a magnet backing.
Last year my daughter and I made magnetic bookmarks. She likes owls, so we printed a cute owl and a sentiment on card stock for boys - "You're a Hoot" and for girls - "Owl Always be Your Friend" - cootie issues), printed multiples on the inkjet, cut and folded in half, and and put two magnetic tape strips on the inside (adhesive backed from Joann or any craft store).. On the front was the card, the back had a heart with to and from in side and at the bottom in small print we printed "(its a magnetic bookmark)" in case they could not figure it out. I don't have any copies left, but they were very cute and super easy to make.
Oh - just found the file - it is a PowerPoint, but I will see if I can make a pdf and post it.
I broke down and bought necklace making kits from oriental trading company for my daughter (primary) to give out at school. We are going to make a bag topper once they arrive and I can see how small the package is. I bought two different designs one with silly monsters and one with hearts and peace signs, at her age they still like making things and wearing their creations.
Try FamilyFun magazine's website. They have a lot of cool valentines, some which don't have candy. Is it okay to include other food? They had some with food that isn't candy too. I especially like how they have some valentines that are appropriate for guys, and certainly a lot that are good for school as they are not "mushy". We made the camo ones and the "You Rule" ones with seniors at the nursing home. Very popular, many wanted to give them to their children.
I get premade empty cards and have my son decorate and sign them. Sometimes they are stamped, sometimes he'll use punches or stickers... Then I buy holiday baggies and we fill them up with pencils, erasers, tattoos... anything but candy! All of the items can be found inTarget 1$ spot. Kids look forward to his 'treats' every holiday.

I second the Family Fun magazine ideas. They also have a free craft finder app that is one of the few I have on my phone.
get all the old crayons from your kids that are small or do not have wrappers and turn them into heart crayons. I found the idea on the Factory Direct Craft blog and plan on doing it this weekend with my DD
