It sure has been a dry couple of weeks with receiving cards for the military. I'm sure everybody has very busy lives - I know I do. If you're new to this thread, we'd love to have you contribute! Send me a PM or look at post #1 for more information.
Hi Carolyn,
I finally got the cards mailed yesterday when I took my little girl in to the doctors. Hopefully they won't take too long to get to you.
Loretta
Well, I don't know what happened, but my notification for this thread somehow switched from "instant" to "none". Imagine my surprise when I checked it and there are new replies!!
First of all, Loretta, I got your beautiful cards yesterday. It's been a crazy couple of days (my MIL went into the hospital yesterday for dental surgery and she is not being discharged for a few days - or longer - because of another medical issue; and my dad had a biopsy yesterday - had 3 spots removed from on his gum). Needless to say, it's been a roller coaster ride for a little while here. Thanks so much for sending the cards. Thanks too for the templates. I will definitely make use of them. I plan on taking some photos of your cards so I can keep them for ideas.
Next of all, laderme, I will send you a PM right away.
And last, but not least, we have a new total!! We sit at 2,831. I received a few cards from a couple of other people too, who aren't on SCS, so that was great.
Thanks again for helping this total grow and grow.
We love all our soldiers where ever they are from. Please know we send our love & support your way. Count me in on this one. I have Girl Scouts who I'm putting to work.
Carolyn - I probably have close to 100 card fronts but don't have any white paper to mount them!!! and won't have any in until end of next week then I am away on a business trip. Let me know what you want to do and I can always get them off to you with what I have.

I would like to get them to Shilo by the beginning of December - the November 16 deadline is so that I can sort the cards into occasions, get the last of the boxes packed then get into Edmonton to the military base to get them shipped to Manitoba. If November 16 is too soon for you, you can always send them directly to Shilo - the address is on their website (www.acardforhome.com). I haven't talked with them lately to see if they are continuing the project for 2008.

Hi Caroly - got a package out today. About 50 full cards and maybe 75 fronts. You should have them by Friday. Let me know the count and maybe I can gather up some more if we are a few short and get them out ASAP. Let's hit that 3000 mark!!!!!

I'll let you know when they arrive and of course, do a new total. I want to hit 3,000 too! I know a few friends here are giving me some cards in the next couple of weeks so that should help.
The first batch of cookiehead's cards have been counted. The card total now sits at...2,919. We creep closer all the time to that next big number... when will we make it? I'll let you know.
I received some hand delivered cards today from a lady who saw me on the news a few months back. With her cards, we are now at 2,955! I can see the goal, and I just know we will surpass it!
Thanks for bumping this up for me - my family and I have been away for the weekend. The deadline to get cards to me is this Friday - keep them coming!!
Another card total, thanks to surflola's cards that arrived today. She used her incredible photography skills to create cards. Really...they are amazing. I wish I could take pictures like that. Anyway, the card total is now at 3,088!!
I have cards I want to mail, but can't until the 15th. I've already seperated them by catergory & labeled them. Should I still send them even though it is after the deadline or should I send them directly to the organization that is doing this project?
