FYI Canadian Goodie box Buddies...I haven't received the box yet (not that I expected to - but I wanted to update you) but I'm checking the mail as soon as I get home from work every day and I *WILL* update you as soon as it arrives and again when I re-ship it.
The gal at the post office said the box should be there within 7-9 days so I would expect it around the middle to end of the week. It went out last Tuesday morning.

Guess we'll have to start a new thread with an update list in it so people can keep track of where the box is. I suspect that the Alberta to Newfoundland leg would be the longest trek but once the box leaves the Rock and is back on the mainland, it should travel faster. (how many of you found my use of the term "mainland" cute? Be honest!)
Incidentally, I found a sturdier box that will hold the "long" thing and keep things from shifting around too much.
Would this help out if I do it this way. When each of you post that you have received the box I will update. Once the box has been sent I will change the wording.

I found some stuff that I wanted to swap in the goodie box and I popped some (IMO) nice new things in there as well as some odds and ends. I immediately went out last night to mail the package but Staples' postage meter was broken so I tried another outlet and they closed 4 minutes before I got there!
I went out again this morning and sent the package to NS. They don't process mail over the weekend any more in Newfoundland so it should start wending it's way to NS on Monday - and should get there fairly quickly because a lot of the sorting of Newfoundland mail is done in Halifax now.
I changed out the box to one that's sturdier and I wrapped it in brown paper so the box doesn't weaken from having tape pulled off of it. It cost just under $12 to mail (including tax) FYI. (but it's only going from NL to NS)
I think that the box contents will get even more interesting the more it travels as everyone has a different collection of stuff. I was choosing from only one person's rummage and Heather will be choosing from 2 people - by the time it gets to number 5 or 6 there should be an interesting mix of doodads.
I have been checking the mail everyday and nothing yet. I will let everyone know as soon as I get it!! I beleive the post offices are closed tomorrow with it being Rememberance Day. So hopefully Monday!!

Wow, I would have thought the parcel would reach Nova Scotia by now! It HAS to be there by Monday. Too bad you didn't get it in time for the long weekend.
I stopped yesterday and no box...I stopped this morning and WE HAVE THE BOX!!! I will go through tonight after work and will get it back into the mail tomorrow. I will post tomorrow to update everyone!! It was like Christmas this morning picking up the parcel. I was trying to rip off the paper while driving to work but Kelly had it good and taped so I thought it was better to not ahve an accident and wait until I got home!!!
Yahoo! I know it was taped up pretty good but I didn't have any proper brown paper left and had to use some kraft-style Christmas wrap that I reversed (didn't want you to panic with "do not open until Dec. 25th" written all over the box!) and I was afraid it wouldn't be strong enough. Hope you find some things you like in there...can't give any hints.

I just did a search and I believe that one is closed as well. I think it was called 2nd CDN Goodie Box posted by scrapnstamp on the farm. I am not sure if this was the only other one running though.
I just wanted to update everyone by saying the boxwill be going in the mail this afternoon. On its way to a new home!! This was fun, thanks for hosting Wendy.

I have the box! It came Friday, but I had a nasty flu-type bug this weekend, so I didn't get a chance to go through it thoroughly, but I have done so now and I will mail it out tomorrow!
What fun getting a big box of surprises in the mail!

I think my turn has arrived! I received a card in my mailbox yesterday afternoon, so I am off to the P.O. this morning to go get it.
I am not expecting anything else to arrive by mail, so it must be the goodie box that is waiting there for me.

Off it goes! Sent it out today...the P.O. was busy. This is a crazy time for CanadaPost. Hope those of you out west don't have to wait too long for your goodies.
