Question Can you use chalk ink with copics...

Can you use chalk ink with copics? I have some images I've stamped with chalk ink. I haven't used copics, so wasn't sure.
I have Momento Black and have been told that can be used. Should I heat set it first or let it dry for a certain amount of time?
What ink can be used with the most coloring mediums? I was thinking it would be chalk ink, because it dries so fast, but didn't know.

I don't think I've tried chalk with Copics, but I have tried them with watercoloring. They run when wet. Copics are made of ethanol, so it doesn't get them "wet" but it may dissolve them. The type of paper you use determines which ink you use with Copics. However, Copics generally don't work well on coated papers. If you're using coated papers then your inks will sit on top wet longer than if you don't use a coated paper. Many Copic friendly papers work well with Memento. Memento inks are fast drying so you don't need to use a heat gun to dry them. However, like all inks, they'll dry slower on coated paper.

I use memento ink with copics. The only weirdness I experience is with the yellow copics, which I have been told is about the yellow alcohol, not about the ink I used to stamp an image.

Thank you for the responses. I use mostly Georgia Pacific paper from Walmart and some from OfficeMax. I guess I need to hunt up an ink guide and print it out to have constant access to it. If anyone has a link to one, I'd love it!

Try this website as it should answer most ink questions you may have.

Thank you so so much!!! That helps a lot! After reading it, it sounds like Chalk inks might work, if I heat set them first. And that Momento is another good option! Thank you so much! I am saving this link to favorites!!! :p
