Default Calendar Background Stamp

The first thing I thought of when I saw the new calendar background stamp was that I could do 12 of them, decorate and embellish and make a calendar and bind it with my new Bind It All.

But when I looked closely, I realized the little squares for the dates won't work. Maybe someone can help me figure it out.

Here's the problem: If the month begins on Thursday and has 30 days in it, you're fine. If the month begins on Sunday and has 30 days in it, you're fine because you can turn the stamp upside down. If the month begins on any other day, you're not fine because the squares won't come out in the right place.

My head is spinning trying to think about this. Maybe we'll just have to draw in some more squares if we want to make a calendar...........

Your thoughts or suggestions??

Question

I'm glad you posted. I've been having the same issue. What if the month starts with a Sunday? That month can only have 28 days. It has to be February and not a leap Year.

I can't figure out what I am missing?!?!?!

I've had calendars in the past where, on occasion, the last couple of days shared "the box" with the previous week. There was a diagonal line through the box and one half was (for example) the 23rd and the other half was the 30th. Does that make sense?

Holy moly! Why didn't realize that! In my defense it's been a tough week at work.

Why would you even want a stamp that is a calendar? Wouldn't it be easier to print out the info on the computer.

Easier, yes. But not as original or interesting. I have the calendar set from TAC. It's great!

I was just looking at the calendar stamp again and here's a thought, turn it over so the month name is on the bottom for the months that start in the begining of the week.

Thinking about this, can't you just put masking tape or a post-it note on the "wrong" days for a month before inking up with a brayer?

Then peel of the mask and stamp away!

(I haven't seen the set yet, so not sure)

I think August will not fit unless you do the diagonal-How hard would it have been to add another whole row??? I really wouldn't want the diagonal- won't get it myself

I would rather just print a calendar off of Word, KWIM and save my stamping $$ for something else!

Yep. It's a cool idea, but I think I'll stick with the computer for something like this. There are just too many other things I CAN'T duplicate on the computer that beg to be bought!

Wow, this is the first I have heard of this BG stamp. Sounds like a neat look for a card, anyway, even if you can't easily do a calendar set. What kind of examples do you see? What stamps do they use with it?

I want a catalog!

That's interesting of course i didn't even thinking about it. I thought about getting it too for CD calendars but if all the month's won't fit that would be a waste. Least i can knock it off my HUGE list of what to get out of this catalog.

at first when i saw it i so wanted this stamp too but than... it is too much work for using all the stamp-ma-jing to position all the numbers neat and tidy into the corners.

if i had to make this 12 months each calender page lets say 30 days thats
(20 multiplies with 12) 240 using the positioner. not counting the sheets i mess up and would need to start over again

Then just don't use a positioner!! :-D Just kidding...but seriously, I have never used a positioner but still think the calendar thing would be a LOT of work...I am still on the fence. I liked it a lot to begin with and then I started thinking of the numbers and the letters for the month and then the special occasions....and on...and on...and on...
