Default Bought an UM set w/ wrong block size ?

I have a SU Unmounted set question that neither the seller nor I have the answer to I bought my very first Unmounted set when dh & I sat down to mount them, I noticed that the blocks were all well except one. It should have been a 2 x 2 and it was a 1.5 x 1.5. SO of course, the stamps way hangs over the side so I mounted them all but that one.
Her answer was "Dunno, it came to me that way, NIP - contact Stampin Up and see what they will do" so now I'm sitting here thinking but it's not SU responsibility, I honestly dont' think she realized it either, probably a mistake on the part of whoever packed it in the first place?

Any ideas? Has this ever happened to anyone ~ Do I just go to Michaels, Joanns, etc and get a regular wooden block and remount it with a 2 x 2?
TIA, I appreciate any help!

I've never had that happen. I think SU should totally send you a new block, but personally I'd be all lazy and impatient and just get one at the craft store like you said.

Actually I have had this happend to me, but since I had the stamp set for a few months before I mounted it I couldn't return it back to SU. It was awhile ago so I can't exactly remember how long you have to return an item to SU- I think it's like 30 days, but someone here might be able to help you out better. I'm not a demo.

So many people are unmounting their stamps, maybe someone has a 2x2 block they could send you..... I'll go check mine right now, I think I have a few sets unmounted that I will not put on blocks. If I have the right size, I'll send it to you!

I usually bug my husband to check his scrap wood pile in his workshop when i need a block to mount on...he cuts them to whatever size and even sands them down and curves them. What a sweetie.

I've had this happen before. If your demo calls SU, they should send a new block no problem.

The sets are packed by hand and on rare occasion, the wrong one is picked and put inside. Do ask your demo to call Demo Support and request the proper size block. Return policy on merchandise is 90 days, but I don't believe that applies to incorrect block sizes. It shouldn't, anyway. I'm positive SU will send you out the correct block!

I was missing a block from a set I didn't open for awhile - and checked in with my SU person. She said because the set was older, they wouldh't give me the missing block.

Did you buy it from a demo or off eBay? If off eBay you're out of luck. If you bought it new from a demo your demo would be able to contact SU for a replacement block.

If you bought it on eBay wherever the seller got the stamp set from could have mixed up the blocks and someone that needs a 1.5x1.5 got a 2x2 block.

It's a limited return policy for SU. Contacting them for a stamp set you purchased from an outside party would likely be useles.
