Question black image on acetate for clear stamps is coming off???

I was wondering if anyone has had the black image on the acetate sheets the clear stamps are placed on, come off. I had read somewhere about someone spraying the acetate with something, but I cannot seem to find it?
I would appreciate your suggestions.

Hi

what ink are you using? I would think the only one that would stay is Stazon.

Sorry I wa not very clear, I meant the inked image that is stamped on the acetate, to know where to put back your stamps!

I'm guessing a permanent (rather than workable) spray fixative (Krylon or some other brand) might work to keep the image on the registry sheet.

I have a few stamp sets that have this exact problem so I am interested to see what will help stop further disintegration of the images. I wonder why it has happened? The sets are probably about 3 years old and are clear stamps - the stamps are fine but the images on the acetate are just flaking off!

I sprayed mine with a clear coat paint, that my husband had in his garage. You can get it at Lowe's, Home Depot or even Wal-Mart. I spray the acetate as soon as I get the stamps. I let it dry really well and then put the stamp back on the acetate.

Make sure you're only putting Clear (totally see thru) stamps on Acetate! Why?

Because the Cling foam will react with the acetate and it will start tearing down the clinginess of the foam.
So your cling foam Rubber stamps. won't cling anymore.
