I would like to get involved in the birthday club. I am already ready making 29 cards for August birthdays in Texas. It was just something I wanted to do. Let me know if their is a problem before I mail any of them out. Take care and thank you for all that you do. Kel
WOW Kelly--that is wonderful that you are sending out those cards. I will pass your name onto Faith--she is yabbadodo here on SCS and is the BRAK new member mentor. She will send you a PM and we should have you all set for the October birthdays!

Barb, I am on the welcome committee for RAKs. You sent me a link to respond that I got your message to send cards to 2 new members, I got the message but the link to respond back to you does nothing..... so I am responding here that I have sent 2 out welcome cards for both ladies.

HI Ashley--we would love for you to join us as a BRAK Volunteer. I am passing your name onto Faith--she is yabbadodo here on SCS and is the BRAK new member mentor. She will send you a PM to get additional information to get you all set. If we get you signed up by the 11th, then you will be on for the October assignments.
Barb, I am new in joining BRAK. Could you explain to me how the birthday list assignments work? Will I get a list of the people's name that I am assigned to make cards for? I am very new to all of this. Thank you and have a great stamping day.
Kelly

Barbara... I know it has been some time,st at least looking at this post, since you were asking for people to join BRAK. I think I am now in a place that I could start doing braks again. So if you could add me to the list that would be great.

Thanks for stopping and reading this; now we can use your help!
We just completed checking all of the BRAK Volunteers--Birthday Random Acts of Kindness--to see if they are still active. We had about 20 members drop out and a few never replied, so I guess they have also dropped. ;)
That means we will not have enough volunteers to send a card to each of the RAK members on their birthday (each RAK member is assigned to two different volunteers and should get two birthday cards)
Do you have extra birthday cards?
Do you like to put a smile on the face of a birthday girl?
Do you like to have a "reason" to make and send out cards?
Do you love being a member of the RAK group (or want to join) and want to expand your kindness?
If you answer yes to any of these, please stop by the BRAK sub-foum to get more information. You do need to be a RAK member to access the RAK forum and the BRAK threads. If you are not a RAK member, click on the "Join a Group" tab on the left and you can get more information there.
In a snapshot--you tell us how many cards you want to send out each month--between 2-6 or more if you'd like, if you want to send out of your country and that is it! Each month the list of birthdays is posted iin the RAK forum. You will get a PM telling you when the list of assignments is posted. Check the list for the SCS names of the RAK individuals you are assigned to send cards, note the date of their birthday, send out your cards and SMILE!
PM me or post if you have any questions. If you want to join us and become a BRAK volunteer, you can post on the BRAK Thread or PM Faith yabbadodo and she will get you all signed up. Faith is the new member mentor.
Thanks so much and we hope you decide to join us--Barb
Barb,
Getting back in the swing of things. Haven't stamped for a long time. Have been ill and then transfering all my craft stuff to my daughters room since she moved out. Moving to a big space like that has actually been a little overwhelming if you can believe that. Now she is saying she might want to come back home for a while and I'm faced with a dilemma. Do I move everything out or do I keep what I can in her room?? Ah, fun stuff!! So anyway as I ramble on here...I can now be added back to the RAK and BRAK lists. For the BRAK let's start with 3 cards a month and I do not wish to send out of the country. What do I need to do to get started again or by just sending you this note is all? Let me know.

Hi Barb,
I was a former BRAK member but had to drop out due to various reasons. Well, all is good now, & I would like to rejoin, if this is possible & if you could use new members. Please lmk. My email address is: [email protected].
Thanks, Evelyn
Sure can--I will pass your name onto Faith--she is yabbadodo here on SCS and is the new member mentor for BRAK. She will send you a PM to get additional information and get you all set up. If we get everything from you by the 10th, then you will be added for the September assignments. If later, then you will be on for the October ones, which will be posted around 9/20.
Thanks Again--and welcome back!

Can anyone tell me the differences between the RAK and BRAK groups? What are some occasions or types of things sent out if you are a member of the RAK group? I'd like to join either one, but just wondered and wanted more information first...
Thanks for your patience in waiting for my response--been a busy few days here and no computer time!

Thanks for asking and I hope the following information helps you understand the difference.
The RAK group is a group on SCS. It is an area where people send out random cards for any reason--if you apply to join the group, you will see a few sub-forums. You can be as active as you want--send as many cards you want as often as you want.
Since it is a group--you must be request to be approved. First--Click on "join a group" (that is one of the links on the left side of one of the main pages) and follow the directions--there are two parts to do. Just a note--the ladies that do the approvals only do it twice a month--so you will need to be a bit patient. If you do not hear anything by say mid October or so, please PM me and I will check to see what your status is.
Once you are approved, send me a PM and I will pass your name onto Faith--she is yabbadodo on SCS and is the BRAK New Member Mentor. She will send you a PM asking for additional information and you will be ready to go. You do need to become a RAK member first--then you can check out all of the areas and see if you want to become a BRAK Volunteer.
The BRAK is the Birthday Random Acts of Kindness group. BRAK is a sub-forum of the RAK Forum--Random Acts of Kindness Group. We are a group of dedicated stampers who like making cards and bringing a smile to the faces of our RAK members on their birthday.
As a BRAK member, you can choose to send 2 or 3 cards or up to 6 or 7 cards a month or even more on months where we have lots of birthdays. You also decided if you want to send outside of your country or not.
Around the 20th of each month, you would get a PM to say the assignments are posted in the BRAK Forum. In that thread, there are three lists posted--one is the list with the names of RAK members celebrating their birthday that month, a second one has the same names sorted by state, and the third attachment is the list of the assignments. You look at the list that has the assignments, find your name along the left side, look to see the SCS names of the RAK members you are to send cards to, go to the list of their real names and addresses, find your birthday girls and you are set to go!
I hope that makes sense and if you have any other questions or need additional information, please let me know.
Thanks, Barb
