Birthday Containers

I'm trying to find some type of 'birthdayish' container to send some cake to my son. I don't want to send cupcakes because I've done that before. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have any of those nice tin containers we get around Christmas time? I re-use for our Christmas cookies every year. I have a huge collection of these tins we get as gifts. I re use them all the time! I know I have a couple that would definitely hold a cake. Just cool your cake in the fridge, wrap with a nice clear food wrap, then pack it carefully perhaps with a thin cardboard sleeve around the edges. Perhaps others can add what would pack it nicely without damaging the cake. I would think those cookie tins would ship pretty well!

I have seen a lot of cupcakes in mason jars on Pinterest. They are cute, but I'm not sure what the shipping would be.

I was thinking along the same lines as the mason jar but with a tin can... you would have to have one that wasn't coated. and do that reseal the lid on it... Don't know how Birthdayish it would be either... probably depends on how you decorate the outside.

I know on Pinterest I read that you can mail a 2 liter bottle (filled with stuff). Might be best to check with your local PO before mailing anything "odd" shaped though.

What if you could find some cute baking pans like these ?

What about one of those baking pans with a lid. Metal pan, plastic lid. Bake the cake, cool, then frost it in the pan. You could probably even write happy birthday,etc. without it smooshing when you put the lid on. Put the lid on and pack it into a box with some tissue paper cushioning. Add birthday plates, candles, and a banner and you have party in a box! Maybe even some of those little blowers and some balloons. Fun!
