For me I have a couple. I love my Bigshot, my 3M ATG gun, my Cropodile but most recently SANTA made a $300 investment on an industrial grade paper trimmer for me. Cuts like butter I couldn't live without it now.
Another vote for the Cuttlebug, and all the goodies that go with it (embossing folders, nestabilities, etc). I use it on just about every card I make. After reading how people love their ATG gun, that may be my next big purchase.

My BEST craft tool investment was buying the Xyron 510 Machine! I can't imagine making cards and scrapbook pages without it! It makes "gluing" so fast! For the holidays I enjoy making book markers as an added gift. The laminate cartridge works well for this item, too. I usually buy several additional cartridges when they're on sale or when I can use a coupon. What I REALLY like about the Xyron machines are they don't need batteries!
I'm lovin' my Cuttlebug! And now I'll have to check out some of the stuff other people mentioned...Slice (not heard of that); Perfect Layers tools (nor this), and the Sizzix Texture Boutique. Christmas IS over...but my birthday is coming up soon!

Mine would be my Cuttlebug all inclusive (die, Embossing folders and Nesties) and my Scor-Pal Ultimate Package (is still fairly new to me but never leaves my side) use these products mentioned with most cards I make. Neither of these are big ticket purchases but they are priceless when it comes to papercrafting!
Did anyone answer this? It's MY FAVORITE! There are 2-3 rulers with "ledges" on them that "catch" on the sides of photos so you can run an exacto knife blade down the metal edge of the ruler and make absolutely perfect mats from 1/16" up. Love, Love, Love it! (I got mine from QVC. Stampin Up was selling them but I'm not sure if they still do.)
I love my Sizzix Express and my Slice ( I don't think enough people have given it a try and it's really great) I'm considering getting a cuttlebug as there are many instructions using nestabilities and the cuttlebug. I actually broke my Sizzix express trying one technique!!!!! Sizzix replaced it for free! Jan
I would not trade my CARL CUTTER for anything! I have a 15" Heavy Duty Rotary Trimmer 220e made by Carl. I paid just over $100 for it about 4 years ago. I have cut thousands of sheets of cardstock and only replaced the blade once. It cuts perfectly!!
First, ATG gun
Then, Scorpal
Was my cuttlebug and now Big Shot (and LOTS of embossing folders)
Creative Memories scissors
Copics
All of my paper--SU, Gina K, PTI
I've been using my gray and orange Fiskars 12 inch rotary cutter for 6 years and always get precise cuts. Love it! Also love my 9 inch Tonic guillotine to take to club meets.
Best investment ever is hard....I've gotten the most out of my Cuttlebug, because of all I emboss with the folders and Nesties. Not a card is made probably that isn't touched by my Cuttlebug in some fashion, so I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of that little bugger!!!
I also love my Copics and can't get by without my ATG......
It would have to be my sizzix (However! I had a $30 gift card for AC Moore plus a 50% off coupon AND a $10.00 AC Moore gift check (for spending so much there) Sooooo. I bought the cuttlebug and a jar of glitter for $5.00 today! So, I'll let you know....
I would say my stamp-a-ma-jig. I really hate crooked and I was so often unhappy with my cards before getting one of these. I use it on every card and it is definitely the best money I've spent!
Yet another vote for the Cuttlebug with embossing folders and nesties!
I love the sound of the perfect layers tool - I can't cut straight to save my life and although I have a brilliant template called My MateMate which has improved things, my layering still isn't flawless. I'll have to check out the PLT and see if it's available over here in the UK.
I haven't heard of the ATG but reading through many posts I infer it's a sticky tape gun? Something else I like the sound of ; there are similar (possibly the same) things here but I've heard that both the dispenser and the tapes are very expensive, so I make do with ordinary rolls of DST.
1. My $0.25 plastic see though ruler from the kids art department at Walmart.
2. My $1.25 exacto knife I bought from Home Depot
3. My $3.00 closeout Fiskar glass mat
4. My $3.50 quart of OMS at Home Depot
LOL.
Others: ATG Gun, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, embossing folders, Prismacolor Pencils, Copics. These aren't the cheapest purchases, but things I use everytime I craft.
Since I have soooooo many supplies (who doesn't?!) it's hard to come down to one thing, but I'd have to say my Stamp-a-ma-jig. Didn't cost a lot but it's something I pull out just about every time I stamp. I do a lot of composite type of images. I used to have to do them again and again to get them to come out to my satisfaction (I'm a bit particular about how clean my images are). I would get frustrated wasting all that time and supplies. Since I bought the SAMJ, making composites with all my stamps has been a breeze. Such a simple tool that has made stamping for me much more enjoyable. The fact I originally bought mine at Michael's with a 40% coupon didn't hurt either!
The tools I use the most are my best investments! I use my paper cutter the most! I like my Fiskars rotary blade cutter, and it's not the biggest one---it's not small either, and it will take 12 x 12 paper. It has a side arm for lengths that clicks in and out. I like the way it cuts. I've had it more than a year, and haven't changed the blade yet. Still cuts very clean edges simply, multiples too. I like the size of it, it can travel nicely if I need.
Next I use my Scor-Pal for every card--I also use the Scor-Pal self healing mat--front and back for so many things! I do love my Scor-Pal.
My third best investment is my Cuttlebug! Love it! Embossing and die cuts all that I need!
I use a multitude of adhesives, and have yet to determine what is my favorite. Still researching tape runners. I have found a few I don't like, but I have not decided yet on a tape runner I truly love.
Fun post!
the best investment is a nice high quality pair of scissors. And use them only for projects not chopping up cardboard boxes and openening packages. It makes such a difference from the cheapo things I used to get.
Also--a great paper cutter (i use the small size one from CM);
The other thing I can't live without--my bone folder.
Though I didn't exactly buy him...my DH is my best craft investment because he doesn't ever groan at what or how much I purchase for my crafting. He helps me by building storage devices and cabinets and so forth for all my "needs".....I couldn't do all I do without his support. He also always likes what I make.
