Sorry, I'm sure this has been discussed before ~~tried doing a "search" but I must be doing it wrong :(
What brand of gel pen can you recommend?? I saw some at Walmart today that I almost bought, but I have tons of "cheapie" pens lying around the house that sometimes work, sometimes don't. Sometimes they skip, sometimes they glob. What kind or brand do you all use???
The only one I can personally recommend is the white gel pen sold by SU! It is the best one I've ever used, and I'm about to buy my third one because I use it so often. Great for writing on dark cardstock, adding highlights to images, faux stitching, etc. I have a few other white ones that I bought to try before I found out about the SU! one, and I think I'll just throw them away now.
I agree that our white gel pen is AWESOME. That being said, I do occasionally use the Sakura Gelly Roll Stardust (has a bit of sparkle) and the Glaze (slightly dimensional, like you used Crystal Effects on it). I have a set of each and they're still going strong. I've probably thrown out $30 worth of over gel pens in the past few years...
Absolutely, positively, hands down...Sakura Gelly Roll. The SU! signo white gel pen is also top notch, but if you are wanting colors....you MUST buy Sakura Gelly Roll.
oh you must you must get sakura gelly roll stardust pens! They write like buttah! And they are super spark-lay and pretty! I loved the card Trudee addressed to me with one and ran out and bought 4 of my own, lol!
I agree on the Sakura, and I agree on the clear one. A friend used it at my house ... and I had no idea that it looked embossed like that! I ran out and bought more. I do love the SU white one also. Gay Howe
I like the ones from CM. The metalics are fabulous and never skip on me. Ditto on the SU pen, in fact it's the only white one I've ever had that keeps on working!!!!
Thanks so much!! I guess it's pretty much unanimous!! LOL!!
Going to my first SU party tomorrow, the white gel pen will be on my list. Does the Sakura make a white one as well?? Who sells the Sakuras?? Any scrap shop?? Michaels? Joann??
Did I mention I love this board??? Your tips & knowledge are invaluable, especially being a newbie & knowing absolutely NOTHING!!
I, too, love the SU white gel pen! It is awesome on the dark card stock! I was skeptical about buying it because of all the crappy gel pens that are out there, but this one is the Porsche of gel pens!
Now I am totally curious about these Sakura gel pens...I will have to check them out for myself! Great thread for the clueless...
I bought a package of the Sakura's over 5 years ago and they are still going strong. Got 'em at an office supply store but don't recall which one. (Love, love, love the SU! white gel also.)
I got my sakura's at recollections, but Michaels had them too. The stardust line has a shooting star on the label and the star is just outlined. Their other lines have other symbols and one has a filled in star. These are not as sparkly as the stardust ones.
I dont know if sakura makes a white one, but I love my SU white one!
I was just in Milwaukee/Waukesha/Brookfield/Menomonee Falls yesterday and stopped at Creative Pals. I think they had some Sakura gel pens there (I know they had the glaze pens for sure).
And since I was right there I had to stop and get some Mama Mia's spaghetti and garlic bread too Yum!
Shelly!!! Where in WI are you??? I JUST found Creative Pals in the phone book, I have not been there yet though. That's the one on Bluemound, right??? Is it by Kopp's??? (another yummy place!!)
I'll look at Michael's first, then Creative Pals it is. Thanks so much!!
Hi Michelle! I live in Madison. Yep, Creative Pals is by Kopp's. I love Kopp's too When you pull into that little shopping center Creative Pals is on the left hand side (Kopp's will be on the right).
Duh ~~ I was at a stamp store today & looked at gel pens, I just don't remember what kind they were.
Shelly ~~have you ever been to Stampers Cupboard in Mukwonago??? I love it!! I've been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks (today is the first day I actually bought anything though ~trying to control myself!)
