Can anyone recommend a good dollar store in Edmonton? The ones I have seen are mostly tiny and don't have much selection - I'm looking for something BIG with lots of stuff! TIA!
Dollarama is fantastic. For cards, scrapbooking and absolutely everything else. What part of Edmonton are you in? They have expanded their outlets now.I know there is also one in the westend in Mayfield common and I know we have one here in St.Albert. I'm sure they probably more stores in other parts of the city. There is also a Dollar Giant in St.A. It's preety good too. Hope that helps.
Mahloumel, are you in Edmonton too? What part of the city?
Yup, what Mahloumel said (that girl knows everything!) I work in Commerce Place which is connected to Edmonton Centre via pedway, and you should see the Dollarama at lunch time. Lineups at all the tills like you wouldn't believe.
FYI, it's on the basement level across from the food court.
There's also a dollar store in the Capilano Mall (50 Street and 98 Avenue) that's also got some good craft stuff. Sorry, can't remember the exact name of it.

We used to live in da hood (107 Ave and 116 St, across the street from the church with the Singing Christmas Tree). I live in Regina now, but my inlaws are all around or in Edmonton so we visit there semi-regularly.
Thanks for your replies everyone! I am at 82 st and 144 ave. We are actually brand new to the city, so if you could tell me the cross street where the dollar stores are, that would be awesome! I will definitely check out the one in Capilano Mall.
Is Edmonton/Eaton Centre the mall close to Sir Winston Churchill Square?
There is also a Buck or Two on 97th Street and ..... North of 153 Ave. It is in a strip mall with a save on near by, Timmy Ho's, etc. Great Sandy Lion stuff!! Also all kinds of other stuff like glue, etc. Love it there!

A Dollarama just opened in St. John's today! I'm going to wait for the crowds to die down first. Those darn Newfies just flock to a new store like flies to honey. They better not buy ALL the good stuff!

You live less than 5 minutes from me!! There is a dollarama set to open at Londonderry mall soon. Check that out when it opens.
If you're up to a drive, go to the dollar stores in Spruce Grove. They are clean and very organized. There is a Buck or Two and a Dollar Giant. They are in the west end of highway 16A by the Wal-Mart and the Superstore.
