I've been out of the loop on stamping for a bit and was wondering if October Afternoon has closed shop? I used to love their papers but I remember people used to complain about their customer service so I was wondering if someone bought them or if their just gone for good?
Welcome back! Somewhere on here, someone shared a link to a list of stamp companies that closed or were bought out by someone else. I can’t remember the discussion that prompted that, but if I come across it again I’ll link it here. Though, someone else could beat me to it.
just did a quick google search and they seem to have an active site.
I saw their site when I googled it, but I don't think it's active anymore. It kind of looked like it was but the deeper I looked into it, the information was all outdated. :(
I tried calling customer service and the is a recording that they are not set up to receive calls. I wonder why they wouldn't take down the site if they've gone out of business. Bummer I'll miss their papers!
Yes, I remember when October Afternoon closed. (It was a long time ago.) They created great stuff but it seemed like they weren’t able to organize the business side of things.
There are tons of new companies, there certainly is plenty of shopping to be done still.
I loved, loved October Afternoon too! I was in love with the vintagey look of their products. I know there are new companies, but I wonder if there are any that have a similar look?
There are so many wonderful companies that carry similar paper like this one now. I design for The Rubber Buggy.com and it carries this type of paper like Simple Story and the gorgeous Graphic 45 and a few others but not from October Afternoon. I will be using the Simple Story which is similar to October Afternoon but love the Lemon Craft, Stamperia, and Prima Marketing papers for my shabby chic vintage cards. There are so many new companies now. Most of these companies have their own design team so you will have lots of samples from their papers.
