Because she hasn't gotten her new spring order yet!
Now that I have your attention I noticed at SA regionals this weekend that a lot of you don't know how to pronounce her name. It is NOT pronounced "Beet". Say it with me "Bee-a-ta". Like Miata the car, not like beet the vegetable!!

She's not the only one! Mine isn't coming til Wednesday! Not that I'll be creating anything marvelous with mine like Beate will (well, I'll be waiting to see what she creates, then I'll copy it! <g>), but I'm excited about getting it! What did Beate order??
Not only have I not got my order yet . . .I haven't gotten my mini yet! I am thinkning the post office must have messed up. I live in the middle of TX and it always takes stuff forever to get here. I didn't let the fact that I didn't have the spring mini stop me from ordering though!
You guys are too funny! I got my spring mini on Saturday!!!! Wohooo!!!! Jenn still hasn't gotten hers yet.
So far I preordered Cool Cat and wheel, Drawings of Nature, Never-Ending JOy, Wonderful Words II and Alphabits and Punches.
But I do want more. Let's just say that by the end of this mini period I am sure I will have everything but the Animal Alpha. That I am sure I will not buy.
I still don't have my mini, but............ I did preorder the drawings on Nature and the Forest Friends sets this morning... My Valentines day gift from hubby ;) hehehehehhe

The only reason I could pronounce her name is because I used to work with a "Beate". As far as the spring mini goes...I'm waiting to order this time around. Believe me it's really hard to wait!
a) My Spring Mini order is supposed to get delivered TOMORROW!!!
b) I'll pass the Beate-pronounciation Test because I am German, too
(but I guess I won't get a freebie for that one... ). But then again, I don't know what kind of car a Miata is... :?
Well I DID meet Bee-a-ta(at SCS in St. Louis) and believe me I never approached her at first because I DIDN'T know how to pronounce her name. Now I will name my next girl after her! (if I have another one) She is beautiful and the sweetest thang ever. Someone should bottle her humor too!
Hi Beate!! Even though you probably don't remember me, your picture is in a 6x6 album here in Iowa.
.......As far as the spring mini goes...I'm waiting to order this time around. Believe me it's really hard to wait!
Let's hope there's comfort in numbers, then! :? I too am trying to hold out so I can put in a hosttess order, but boy it's hard when looking at the gallery offerings! hang in there!
Yes, unfortunatley I think that is how I introduced myself to her. What a goober! Anyway it was worth it. And you, Debbie did a FANTASTIC job on organizing this get together in SL. Thanks again.
Sorry, I sidelined the thread-go back to the original-sorry guys!!
I won't happen again.
Jamie
Yes....Debbie did a great job organizing the STL. meeting. Jenn did an awesome job with the Mi Tierra restaurant and Lila with the shoe box swap here in town.
I like stalkers . I keep on stalking Shelli and Spencer. Nothing wrong with that, right?
Never fear approaching me. I am just a big goober! LOL

When I was reading the start of the post I was thinking, "I'm going to say I got to meet the Great Beate!!", then Jamie beat me to it and Debbie with her little picture together with Beate haha, well, lets just say I'm so happy to have gotten a chance to meet all the SCS'ers at SL! What a fun night! lots of laughter...
I got to meet so many wonderful gals and everyone is oohing and aahing over the beautiful Swaps, thank you!
An extra aside, Beate, I had the pleasure of having my picture taken with Spencer and Shelli! Spencer as Dr Will was stupendous at the Regional there in SL... But I'll have to stalk you next time, Beate because although I have pictures of you and I'm even seated nearby, I didn't get one of just the two of us, thought you'd think I was way to weird, guess you might have just been flattered.
Thanks for all the great tutorials, hope the rest of the Manager's Reception 'secrets' are up soon for more Tutorials.
Happy stampin' everyone,
Laurie

My Beate story
I'll have to add my little tidbit on her name.
Saturday at Regionals, I was sitting with a couple of wonderfully talented stampers that were from SCS. Now I'm an engineer, so I'm low in creativity, but to make up for it, I thought I'd wow them with something else...
So during the introductions while we're saying our name and such, I say, "Hi. I'm Elizabeth. Beate is my upline." pronouncing her name correctly. I'm thinking. These ladies are going to oooh and aahh at me. Theyr'e SCSers. They have to be impressed with that. I mean if we have people stalking her for her autograph (which I have by the way ) then having Beate on my side makes up for my lack of talent. But I got no reaction. Zip, zilch, nada.
So I'm a little sad thinking okay. I really am a sucky stamper and even being related to Beate ain't gonna help me any.
Well a few minutes later, we're talking about our favorite SCSers and all 5 of them name Beate (pronounced like the vege not the car) as one of their favorites.
I just about fell out of my chair. I all but screamed THAT'S WHO I WAS TALKING ABOUT! Beate pronounced like Miata is my upline!
I still don't think their opinion of me rose any, but I DID educate a whole new group of ladies into how to pronounce her name! I actually think it bothers her friends more than it bothers her. Katydidnt' had a GREAT idea for some t-shirts!
Regionals really was a blast and I'm so glad that I got to be a part of it and got to meet some wonderful stampers.
