Talking Basic Grey...the deed is done

I have finally jumped on the Basic Grey bandwagon. I have resisted for a very long time, but could not do it any longer!!

I'm guessing I should have them in about a week.....do I have to actually *use* them when they get here?

Thanks Darleen for giving me the final push I needed!

The paper is great - very nice quality and it goes great with SU colors! I only have two of the combo packs and can't wait to get more! You are going to be addicted!

I saw the criss cross card done with the Basic Grey and told myself right there and then, "I have to have some of that". So I went out and bought some and haven't used it because I just want to look at it.;)

I just ordered their notch punch thingy after reading Keri's posts about it. Will be anxious to see what you do with the paper, Trudee.

I buy mine from The Angel Company but then again I'm biased! Still, a package runs 19.95 and includes 18 sheets (each different), a set of alpha stickers and a sheet of tags. I think some online places may be a dollar or two cheaper. TAC also carries Sophie and Dawson patterns exclusively and they are $12.95 each. Hopefully the latest patterns will be in the Spring Supplement...

Would this paper be a good weight to use with an envelope template? I am not a fan of a lot of the SU designer paper, but this stuff is quite awesome!

Someone else will have to chime in for that. I think I read that it's 64lb weight. So, it's thinner than our SU! cardstock, but thinking it might be too thick for envelopes?

I would think it would be too hard to fold nicely for envies.

All of the BasicGrey sets I have seen are 65lb 12"x12".

This store offers some free shipping options on this paper. You can also view each page individually in each set.

http://www.scrappymax.com/index.asp?...OD&ProdID=1391

The BasicGrey website is also nice if you want to look at the pages in detail. Too bad they don't sell it too...

Default I am HOOKED too!

I've been using it since last summer. At archivers it is 18.00 a pack. they also sell single sheets. I have: blitzen, lucky, fusion, phresh and phunky, sweet pea alyssa, lollipop shoppe, the undressed monograms and the monogram sheets. I think I have more. I used it to alter phone books, journals, and for zbecky brown inserts. They have the best small tags with the pop up sticker thingies, and wonderful metal art! I would like to have the entire line! I got the die tool the other day but haven't used it yet!

I have Dawson and Vagabond, and want all the new ones. I'm glad to hear TAC still has Dawson - it is so hard to find anymore. And like someone else mentioned, they match up really well with SU colors.

I am in a TIZZY! I love Basic Grey. After reading all these entries I went to their site and saw all the new lines that are coming out! I called some local stamp shops and none of them have them yet. I want URBAN COUTRE right this instant!!! I am going to look online!

Of course, I could go home and use the Basic Grey Papers I already have, but you fellow paper hoarders will understand why that is not possible, right?

This is so much fun!!!

Okay, I"m clueless here. What is the deal with this paper? Is it designed to match SU colors or does it just happen to match? I need to look at it in person to see what's so great.

I ordered a couple of combo packs last summer from TAC (Lollipop Shoppe and Phresh & Phunky) and like many of you have already mentioned - I would just stare at it them. But I finally broke down at Christmas and made post-it pad covers, pens and keychains for all my co-workers. I've placed a few orders since and I have to say I think once you start using it, you just can't stop!!
And Trudee, I CAN'T wait to see what you do with it!!!!

In a pack, EACH page is different!! The colors and designs/patterns are so pretty. Distressed, shabby chic type thing. I love them! I ordered one pack, I think it was the Fusion one. I can't find it in all the mess in my craft area! I'm moving in a couple of weeks! Yikes. But anyway, Basic Grey papers are cool!!!

I have been trying to discipline myself and completely stay away from Basic Grey.

This thread is not helping!;-)

You mean one is actually supposed to CUT the paper? I have a pack of BG paper that is nice and neat and WHOLE! I look at it and touch it occasionally and now you tell me I should actually USE it?

New concepts every day!!!

Great Basic Grey news ladies!!! My TAC demo allamericanstampers (see post #9 here) just e-mailed me that both the Dawson and Sophie collections are on sale for $12.95. They are normally $19.95, so this is a great deal!! If you don't already have a TAC demo, I highly recommend Chris. She is very helpful and not pushy. She's the best! I'm sure she'd be happy to have you order some from her, just send her a PM.

I bought a few pieces of Basic Grey paper on 2 recent trips to my LSS; they were about 80 cents each and a sheet of tags was $2.49 I think; as of yet, I'm still just looking at and touching them! Haven't cut them up yet, so I'm resisting buying a whole set; the girl at the LSS said they've ordered the new sets so once they come in, we'll see how long my resisitance lasts!
