I do hope this is the proper place for this question as I'm new. Can anyone tell me of any online sites to purchase atc supplies and supplies to make tags & book marks. Thanks so much for your help
I cannot remember if I have purchased from 'youratcstore' before but maybe other SCSers have and can share their experiences. I may be mistaken, but I think this online store has been around for a long time.
I realize that you may be looking for referrals from SCSers to companies that they have use, but if you just want to see what is available, search on 'ATC supplies' and you'll find a good number of suppliers and you can see what they have.
Enjoy

You can always hand cut simple shapes like ATCs, just measure and mark out what you need and cut with a ruler and blade or a trimmer. I don't think I've ever considered doing a bookmark any other way!
If you're planning on doing a Lot, you might consider investing in a die if you have a machine. I got the Tim Holtz ATC and corners one on sale (this one) and because it's a steel rule die I can make ATCs out of just about anything. I have a bag of offcuts of mount board (mat board to you guys, I think) that I got for free from a framing shop and I often use that to cut really sturdy ones. Cereal boxes are good too and you can add a layer of "good" paper or cardstock if you need something that will take inks etc in a particular way.
Similarly there are loads of tag dies out there. I have the Sizzix Framelits (these) tag collection ones - they'll cut the thickness of cereal packet board just fine if you want sturdier tags than regular cardstock.
I've linked to the Sizzix site to show them as that seemed easiest but you'll likely get better prices than those with a bit of shopping around if the die idea appeals to you.

Maybe as I progress I will be able to get more items. I thank you for the links (added to my favs bar to check them out) and the information you provided
You're welcome. It's always a bit of a balancing act - dies are expensive but if you're going to make a lot of a particular item or you want the freedom to cut it out of whatever you want they can make sense as a longer-term investment. Definitely best to make sure you enjoy working on this scale first, though! Have fun
Those ones are white posterboard, and similar to clay-coated cardstock on the front side. They're very nice to work with, and I like that they're white instead of the typical manila.
I love making tags..Artful Tags as I refer to them. I use Ranger Craft Tags, mostly #8 Size Manila tags..I cut out cereal boxes, any food product packaging and attach to the tag to make it sturdier. I paint, stamp, collage, stencil, use modeling paste, glitter, metal or any type of embellishment on them to create a sample..can be used for book mark if not too many embellishments. I use them to test out techniques, give as gifts instead of a card, or use as a gift tag on a package. I make them for holidays, birthdays, you name it. I just collect them and display them in my craft room.

I cut my own ATC blanks and use everything and anything to make them. From patterned paper to stamps, paint to stencils it's all fair game. Which means you can get supplies anywhere from the dollar store to home sales companies, big box stores to online craft shops. Anything goes. Maybe if you tell us more about your style that would help. If you are really new, maybe look for a few you like on Pinterest and hope they lost their supplies. Then look up sources for them or ask us here.
