Anyone else sad about non-demo and demo only forums?
I really miss the fantastic news about new products coming about and new specials th SU would be coming out with in the upcoming months since we switched the demo only forums and the non-demos. This was a fantastic way for us non-demos to get excited about the new stuff and save our money for the specials. The gallery examples are beautiful!!!
I guess I am prone to keeping things the same and never changing...a rut maybe! Change is supposed to be good...sometimes I am not sure who it is good for.
Don't feel too left out... The demo only area is a good place for demos to ask 'silly' questions, bring up concerns, etc. without starting any rumors. Sometimes we bring up ideas, talk over things that are bothering us, and sometimes we cry over workshops, hostess', etc... chances are you would find that most of it doesn't apply to what you want to do (and that's play with all the fun stuff!) Anything important will come up in this forum also.
As far as letting secrets out about specials and things, many times people 'guess' at what is coming up, and that can cause a lot of unhappy customers if a guess is wrong. Many times, Stampin' Up! wants their suprises to thrill us as much as you... We will wait on the new catty's also.
Enjoy, and again, don't feel left out. (if you really can't stand it, then maybe you should consider being a hobby demo)
Janet,
A hobby demo is someone who becomes a demo to basically support their own habit. They don't necessarily have parties/workshops, they basically just become the demo so they can get the discount for themselves.
I always looked forward to the postings that were made in the non-demo areas. I usually got good ideas on gifts and such. My demo is more the hobby demo type, and with her busy family, doesn't always have workshops. I got a lot of news from this site that I wasn't getting from my demo. I know there have been separate areas for a long time, but a lot of demos weren't posting strictly in the demo area. By hearing about things (or the possiblility of things), I was able to better manage my stamping budget and set my priorities. I don't necessarily buy as much SU as I did before because I don't know what's upcoming as much.
