I am also not happy at all with the disappearance of craft shows on HGTV. I loved watching Carol Duvall, Knity Gritty, Creative Juice, and Jewelry Making with Jackie Guerra. I also liked Craft Lab and B. Original. I recorded all them with the DVR. Then I left for a deployment to Iraq early last year. I suspended the recording function so the DVR wouldn't run out of memory. When I got back, the first day home I sat down with the DVR remote to turn the record function back on for all of them, only to find that none of them were anywhere in the schedule! I looked and looked to find any craft show on any channel (I have Dish Network), and found only quilting shows. I was so mad.

btw - I did an internet search and found that Jackie Guerra slimmed down considerably (if I remember correctly, she elected for the surgery, but advocates you must live healthy after the surgery to make it successful). She looks awesome!

Default Craft shows

I miss all the craft shows just like all of you--even Martha Stewart has mostly food programs--and I'm sick and tired of all the food channels instead of crafts--how many of those recipes can you fix? How many times can you afford to redo your house? We need to (all of us ) form some kind of emailing hot line to the head of the tv channel networks to complain--a group of us might wake them up to the fact that were very unhappy....i complained to Direct tv and Dish network and all they said was they do not pick whats going to be on--WHO DOES?I miss Carol ---Sandi-- and all the others that followed...What happened to the scrapbooking that you could buy stuff on QVC and Home Shopping network? Those were fun to --They even took off my millionaire show and replaced it with Hollywood druggies and gossip.....We need to do something about this......the biggest thing is the rates keep going up for what? Repeats and repeats....

Its not just in the USA that the crafts shows have disappeared. Here in Australia they have too. We lost the scrapbooking shows, than the patchwork show/ sewing, than Maratha Stewart, than systematically all the craft shows have disappeared.I'm so over DIY and home renovations.

I still have the Carol Duvall Holiday shows set to record just in case they happen to come back on. Maybe if one of the Kardashians or someone from Jersey Shore started crafting we could get a channel. I don't watch these shows, but I hear about them all the time. If someone starts a campaigne to bring these shows back, let me know. I wish I had money to buy a network!

I sure do miss them! I loved watching Aleenes, and Carol Duvall everyday! QVC really ticked me when they stopped the scrapbooking/crafting segments. HSN has alot of really good deals now, Anna Griffin is there, Martha Stewart, Crafters Companion, Hot of the Press, and more. This month they have alot of shows and specials goin on for National Craft Month.

The reason that the shows are no longer on the air is because those shows didn't buy more air time.

The realtor association has big bucks and has bought the best time slots on HGTV and DIY. That's why House Hunters, Bathtastic, Design to sell, etc, are so prevelant. Complaining to the big-wigs won't do much good. If you really want to complain, consider contacting the executive producer of each show you are interested in watching. Maybe, just maybe, they can squeeze some money out of their bosses and buy some more air time.

I miss them too! I'm sick to death of real estate shows. I mean I love a good fixer-upper but not all day long!

In the UK we have a TV channel called Create and Craft which is devoted to selling craft supplies but it does have guests and demonstrators.

The programs are also shown live on their web site.

Create and Craft Homepage

I think you would be able to watch on the web from other countries.

I used to catch a scrapbook show on the Mormon TV channel. Anyone know if it is still on the air?

I think you're talking about Scrapbook Memories. It isn't on anymore. I think they stopped filming new episodes a year ago, maybe a little longer. They used to air re-runs, but they don't even do that anymore. I've watched some of the mini shows on My Craft Channel, but most of them are trying to sell products. There are a few good ones on there, though, so you might want to check it out: Home | My Craft Channel

It's hard to find the crafting shows anymore. Create TV is more cooking shows than anything. The "Katie Brown Workshop" looks like half done crafts to me. She said she was a caterer, so I'm not convinced on the craft side.

I stopped watching HGTV, I can only take so much revamping your yard and house. And having it done in one day with a TV crew helping. Come to my house and clean it up for me!

The local station, I guess PBS, is still showing some craft shows, "Knitting Daily", "Scrapbook Soup", "Beads, Baubles and Jewels",, "Fons and Porter Quilting". But times are not very consistent on their schedule.

I don't know if any of you know about this site, (and admittedly I haven't watched it anytime recently) but I remembered as I read through this thread that they announced this awhile back.

Shows | My Craft Channel

It's online but there appear to be quite a lot of shows on it.
