Anyone else having a hard time finishing their Christmas cards?
I have about half of mine done, and I just can't summon the energy to finish the rest...I have no motivation to do anything "holiday" at all. Once I get them done, then I have to address all the envies, not to mention stamp the envies (okay, I don't have to do that, but I like coordinating envies, then people know they are getting something special, kwim?).
Am I the only one in this slump? If you are, how did you heave yourself out of it?
Hehe! I've finally kinda sorta started a little. I cut the base cardstock and stamped the first background stamp -- WHY did I think it would be good to do a double background 50 times!?!?!
I keep finding other things to do than finish my cards -- like spend time surfing SCS! I guess I do better under major pressure -- like -- if you don't get those cards in the mail tomorrow people won't get them before New Year's!
I have like 30 done. I need at least 60. I did 10 yesterday....took several house because, of course I decided that I wanted to do a shaker card for some people. STUPID idea!
Done yet? Not even started... well, I have considered a couple of design ideas, so hopefully, I'll actually start stamping this weekend! I only have 50+ cards to do but I work great under pressure.
I just got finished making 54 Christmas cards for others who ordered them from me for themselves. It's so hard to get into the mood now to do them for myself. I did make 4 last night though, but I need about 30!
Nope! My friend and I worked a couple of Friday nights and together we finsihed over 100 christmas cards, 7 different styles...and then we split the cards and we were both done!

Not for lack of stamps, mind you ... because I have tons of Christmas stamps this year. (Kinda went a little overboard on the new Window Art stamps by Stampendous ... oops!)
I only bought 40 Christmas stamps ... so I guess I am only sending out 40 cards this year. I have only received two Christmas cards (well, one was only a letter) so far ... so I figure I am not too far behind. I am finding it hard this year to get excited about sending out a bunch of cards that I worked hard on ... knowing that most of the people who receive them will not truly appreciate them. I know, I know. I should get over it. We don't stamp so others will appreciate them ... we stamp for the enjoyment. But there are times that I just want to send store-bought cards to the majority of the people on my list!
Gosh, I guess I am in a "bah humbug" kind of mood today. Could have something to do with the fact that I have been cooped up in the house with three little kids all week. Haven't left the house since Saturday (and that was only to get groceries) ... too cold!
Maybe the snow today will inspire me to get to work ...
I am with you there. I got all my hubbies family done and handed out. i got to do my side and friends. I have my parents done plus one friend lol. I just don't seem to be in the mood to do them anymore. I should of joined a christmas card swap and then I would of had a bunch lol.

I am really struggling to get going with mine this year - I have a few suitable for friends and distant relatives but out of all my close family and friends have only managed one for my brother. Am away this weekend too (going to see Foo Fighters yay!) so am going to have to really knuckle down next week .....
36 done......about 20 more to get made. Still gotta address them and get them sent. lol I am behind, I know. Whats the saying........Miles to go before I sleep..........lol
Its about time somebody posted this, so I can know I am not alone! I have agreed AGAIN to make my Mom and MIL's cards, Please smack me NOW!! What was I thinking?? I think that the fact that I have to make them makes me not want to stamp anything at all!
What to do?? I have so many great ideas from here, including the Beautiful Collage picture frames I seen a few days ago..I keep finding other things that need to get done.
Good Luck Ladies, Maybe we can push each other to get off of here and get to our desks and STAMP!!!
I haven't even started. My son is graduating from his Nat'l Guard program this weekend and I'll have to get to them when we get back. All this week, myself and both of my girls have been sick with some horrible upper respiratory virus. Yuck!
I have about 6 of 60 done, am I behind???
I also like to do different designs for everyone...dumb, dumb, dumb!
I could easily be done if I did all the same card, who would know?? ME!!
But of course I already bought different kinds of printed paper and TONS of embellishments.
I just keep find more funs stuff to do here, maybe I should ban myself from the site until I'm done...nevermind, I'll just call people and say Happy Holidays! LOL!!
I thought I was done but then a couple of girls here at work asked me to make some for them, and then I remembered I hadn't made enough to give to the coworkers I exchange cards with. *sigh* I think for the coworkers I'll do something different than the cards because I'm just tired of making them.
Glad I am not the only one who is behind. I haven't even started mine either. I plan on using a few from a stamp camp I did back in October but the ones I wanted to design I haven't figured out what I will do.
I think though I can get them done by the 19th cause hopefully I will get some done this weekend.
After buying a set specially(retired) for this years card, I decided about 3 weeks ago to send out the kids pic on that postcard like thing that you get from the photo studio, and only make a few special cards for my parents/sister/etc....those that actually appreciate it. I send at least a dozen to DH's family, who neither reciprocates nor mentions them. Done with that.
I've been having a hard time feeling satisfied with the design I'm planning to do. I've made one up as a prototype and part of me keeps asking myself if I really want to make 55 more when most of the people on our Christmas card mailing list probably won't appreciate them. I've tried a couple of ideas for simplifying the design but for various reasons they didn't really work out.
Nope! My friend and I worked a couple of Friday nights and together we finsihed over 100 christmas cards, 7 different styles...and then we split the cards and we were both done!
I'm glad to know someone else is doing multiple designs/styles. I had been talking to a few people and found out they were mass producing their cards... well, that would be a lot easier now wouldn't it. OF course, I can't go for easy!!:???:
WOW! Glad to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't even started. I know I want to use the Loads of Love, but, I'm just not sure what the card is going to look like. Somehow, I wanted to include a picture of my boys w/their sweaters w/red truck & tree(bought those just because they matched the stamp!) I'm sure at this rate, there's no way possible to pump out oh, about 100+ cards, huh? I just love the stamp set though!!
I am about halfway done, I am only going to do close friends and family....I have more fun sending cards all year long that I don't feel I need to include EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHER on my Christmas list....LOL....and sorry but I have SAB sets in the house, WHO WANTS TO MAKE CHRISTMAS CARDS???
Ok well one I made yesterday was with the new Alphabet Soup and it was Christmasy... LOL
Disneywed -
I finally decided to do the exact same thing this year. Most people are getting the kids picture/postcard thing, and close family and friends will get a stamped card. I need to reduce the stress of the holidays!
Mine have been done for the last couple of days. I'm just waiting to get a pic of my boys to put in the cards. Hopefully when the youngest gets home I can get them done. I only had to make 40. It seems I got off good compared to the rest of you.
I got 70 of them done a couple weeks ago, I was going to send "bought" cards to the rest until my husband said he really wished I'd make them all. He is proud that I make them, and with the investment I have in all the supplies would be disappointed if I bought cards. Maybe it will snow tomorrow, and I will spend the day finishing the rest. Every year, I say I will do simpler cards. Next year, I'm going to use the stampin' round wheels. Eileen

Well, I thought I was done, but I'll need to make a few more. These will be the streamlined version of the original.
I've sent off my cards to Europe, but I'm half-way through addressing the ones for North America. I was going to do some today, but I couldn't face it. Addressing envelopes is a drag.
Can you say manana?

I made 40. I did them back in September, maybe late August. We moved in October which is when I would normally have done them I think. I did have about the last 8 to make after we moved, and after not stamping for 2 months, it was fun. But I'm glad I did them before we moved. I mail my Christmas cards the first week of December.
Woohoo! The cards are still not even started ... but at least I finished our Christmas letter today. Guess the cards will have to wait for the weekend. I guess I could start addressing the envelopes.
Glad I'm not the only one!!! I make about 125 cards for Christmas - I too have about 1/2 done. I mail them as I go (I keep a detailed list so I know when and what card went out to whom)! I'm hoping to finish up this weekend!

The cards are done... I sent off e-mails today to the 3 people who I think moved this last year and I'm not sure the address I have is current... Once that is done, I can print labels and write little notes in the cards and seal and mail. I am sending 34 cards this year, of which 25 are stamped. I have 11 in one design and 14 in another. The others all get Hallmark! (cuz I know they toss 'em!)
I normally send out photo cards but this year I wound up taking individual photos of the triplets and sending out stamped cards with 3 photos in a booklet type card. What was I thinking? Anyway. I did 10 Hanukkah cards and 25 Christmas cards with photos and then I made 15 just christmas cards without photos. They are all mailed out and of course I'm starting to receive cards from people I didn't send cards to and I don't have any more photos left. Guess I should make extras next time.
Finish? Heck... I haven't even started any! I might ought to start doing that today. Okay - so I thought about it and thought naught.
Here is my deal: If I "have" to do something it takes the *joy* out of it for me. I can't do it like that. Stamping is no FUN if I HAVE to do it. NO THANKS. I don't feel it this year, so I am not doing it. I might make one or two cards for my special friends/family members, but that is it.
Stamping is therapy for me. I don't want to make myself miserable in my own happy place - know what I mean?
So if you have half of your cards done - you are already a champ in my book. WTG!!!
I stayed up until 2 AM Wednesday night finishing my cards....FINALLY! I love making my own cards but this year I just got a really late start and couldn't get myself into any kind of groove. Part of the reason is that I've been having Christmas Stamp A Stacks at my house each month for the last 4 months, plus I've also been making all-occasion cards for women in my mom's office and I just haven't been in the mood to make any cards for me. But I finally sat my butt down and did it and I am relieved!!!!
Oh my goodness...I can't imagine making 125 cards!! I only make 40 and I think that is bad!! LOL Wow.
I mentioned to DH last night that I just might buy a box (hey! It isn't niceto throw things!! ) to send to some people and he said that was fine...whatever I wanted to do. So, if I feel the joy slipping away, I might just have to buy a box and be done with it.
I feel the same as the rest of you girls, why am I not in a Christmassy mood? I just cannot get any inspiration going. I made a lot of cards at demos for a shop I work for and then my mother-in-law went and bought them all.
I hate production lining cards too. I can only make two or three of each design and this year I am struggling for ideas and my mum wants 20 by Sunday, I have to make 50 for my son's class and teachers and then I get to start on mine.
You girls are not helping because you keep distracting me with your interesting conversations, lol. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
