I always find I have this problem and wonder if I'm doing something wrong. I use the handheld punches (1/8th and 1/16th)on almost all of my cards, but the paper gets stuck and I have to wiggle it out.
Any tricks that you know that will prevent me from having to do that wiggle every time? Trying to save creative work time here!
Thanks so much! I'll try to edit and post a picture so I can show you what I mean.
Sharpening is a good tip. Also, it seems to me if I squeeze the handle together "briskly" or quickly, rather than slowly and carefully, the punch seems to do better. It doesn't leave those little scraggles around the edge of the hole.
I think also it depends on what kind of cardstock you are punching through. Some of the thicker cardstock seems to have more fibers that keep you from getting a clean punch with the hole punchers.
I never have a problem with the GP white cardstock that I use for images and card bases.

Thank you ladies for all your suggestions! I am in love with my crop-a-dile, I'll use it on any project that I can, but it doesn't always work out. I'll try the sharpening/waxing trick - never even thought of this! As for the paper piercer, I have a budding 4 year old papercrafter (my daughter) that this is one of those things I can't leave out, and out of sight out of mind!
Make sure that you're placing the paper in the right spot. If you try to punch the paper without sliding into the right slot, it will squash the paper, and the paper will get stuck.
Yes, Scrapjanny and Diane (thanks for the photo too by the way!) that's how I do it. I guess I'm having bigger problems the smaller the item and nearer the edge. I think I might have figured out my pennant punch problem though - if I punch the 3/16 hole before I use the pennant punch, it should work. Thanks for helping me problem solve!
