Default organizing stamp sets

My hubby just bought me a labeler! (Got it at Staples) I labeled all my sets !!! It's so easy to see the name of them now. I have them stacked up on shelves on the wall over my stamping desk. Up out of the way, but easy to see with the labels!!

I agree with Robin, the stamp image catalog that she has is great. I made one this year and don't know how I lived without it. Like Robin said if you don't know what you want you can flip thru and find something and even know the correct size of it.

I just store mine in alphabetical order by company (SU, TAC, and CTMH) and then a place for the odds and ends

I did the same thing as Robin. I LOVE it! Even my husband figured out my system without asking. I also put them into catagories in the book (same as in the catalog) so if Im looking for something for a holiday or birthday I just go to that section.

Thank you everyone for the great tips. I know it is a simple question, but a big problem, not only for me but the girls I work with are also into SU and have asked the same question.

Default Organizing sets

One of the things I do is make a photocopy of the index page before I cut it up and put all the indexes on the stamps. My computer printer is also a copier/scanner. Then I trim the copy and put it in the bottom of the box. You know it'll fit, because the index page fit. Then you have something in each box that tells you the name of the set and how many stamps are in the set and the best way they'll fit in the box. I also number my sets and put that number on each stamp, along with 1 of 10, or 4 of 8, or whatever. I also put a copy of the index page in my notebook of stamps, in the SU section by category, i.e., holidays, flowers, people, animals, etc. Sometimes it pays to be anal. Hope this helps. Kathy
