Ted, we only know right now about the sigh-up special during Sale-A-Bration -- an extra 25% in starter kit product ($156.25 for $99 plus s/h). No word on anything afterwards but that's not unusual. Sale-A-Bration ends of March 22nd.
Yes, it's still a no-no to talk about competing products on blogs, especially where to buy.

You could buy your blocks during Sale-a-bration and get free items with every $50 spent.
Or get an order together on your own or have a real or virtual party and you could collect the host rewards... $25 free of any products with $150 in sales plus SAB goodies if you order before Saturday.
Hi Linda and thanks for taking the time to respond. Sounds like a great deal to join.
Well, darn about the no-no (although I do understand SU's point!)
I wanted to try the SU acrylic blocks and guess I was hoping to use that discount! ;) Guess I'll just need to save up! ;)
Again, I appreciate your answer and help!
If you have other things that you want too, order the blocks as part of the starter kit and what ever else you want to get to the $156.++. There isn't a set list of what you have to get in the starter kit now.

I actually thought about that, thanks.
How long is the commitment to SU? A year?

No commitment. To stay active it is $300 per quarter but you would not need to do the quarter ending in March. So you would be active until end of June and if you had not spent 300 you would be in pending during July. If you had not spent the 300 by July 31, you are dropped. So if you only want the starter kit, that is all you have to get and it is yours to keep no matter what you decide to do.
No commitment - only a $300/quarter minimum to keep up if you want to stay on. And you have until June to make that minimum. No penalties for not making it either. Pretty neat huh?

It's been a while since I've been an SU demonstrator, so perhaps I should check into it.
And, unless I'm mistaken, the first order is 30% discount? Or do they not do that anymore?
Yes on the first order being 30% instead of the usual 20% but the order has to be a certain size, I think $150 and during the first 45 day. Ted I am pretty sure these numbers, 150 and 45 are right but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
SAB ends soon, March 22 which I think is Friday, so if you want to sign up don't let the date pass you by.
Other things to consider....
1. 1st demo for yourself is w/30% off. I ordered from the back of the catalog. Dies, punches, cardstock & embellishments.relly how many more stamp sets do I need.
2. Also I sold my business packge (order forms& such) to my upline. So that paid for part of my kit.
3. Next - my BEST tip try to make your minimum during the first month each quarter. Why? Because you have two more months to reach your goal, if needed. But if you wait til your last month you havno more time
4. From the beginning get your customers in the habit of making wish lists. You keep their lists. A month or so before birthdays, anniversaries, etc get in touch w/ their spouse and family. Let them know you "KNOW" just what they are looking for. You make a matching card. Wrap and even delivery!!!
Wow! Thanks so much for this thorough information.
I would only be a hobby demo, as I don't plan on selling to others. I just don't know if I could find $100/month of merchandise to buy.
I like the idea of selling the business package to an upline...as I'd have no need for it.
Purchase as long as it works for you. As others have said, there is no time commitment.
Between new catalogues and Sale-a-bration and monthly promotions ... there seems to be tons that tempts me.
(and you probably want to spend $150 twice and get free stuff rather than $100 three times each quarter!)

Yes, that's what I did (buy 2 x $150).
(BTW, I love the "I believe in you" video!)

You have the rest of whatever quarter you signed up in PLUS the next full quarter so you don't HAVE to do it in that first partial quarter but you can. They are just going to lump it all together so technically it will count for your first "quarter" which is longer than a normal quarter.
And just to clarify....the price of the starter kit does NOT count towards your total. That question comes up now and then!
It's a great deal no matter how you look at it! And Ted!!!! Hi :-) Been a while!!!! Something to consider now is that it really might not be THAT hard to find stuff to spend money on since in May demos will get to see and order some stuff from the new catalog and then in June the whole kit and caboodle will be available.....something to think about ;-)

Hi Mindy!! *wave* How are you? Yes, it has been a while!
Thanks for the tips... you are quite the enabler! ;) I do wish I had a paper catalog to page through. I'm guessing if/when I sign up, they'll send me one, correct? Or will I need to buy that?

Hi Ted! Hey, I'm in Southern California and have some extra catalogs. Would be happy to send you one! (I see you are in the Bay area). I feel your pain wanting to see the catalog but not having it. lol Just pm me your address.

Well, aren't you so kind! Thanks for the offer.
Actually, somebody has PMed me with an offer and I took her up on it.
But your generosity has touched me...thank you!

LOL....love that subliminal bolding there, Gail. ;)
Ugh... a box of catalogues that I won't need. Too bad they didn't offer a "hobbyist" version and they could keep the catalogues/forms/etc. for others and save resources.

Forget subliminal.
Make your list of the primary things you want, and then just do it!
Online.
Easy peasy.
Pick your upline. Use the demo locator if necessary.
Hand out the catalogues to your friends. Or a local school. Or neighbours. Or strangers on the street.

Gail's "WHEN" and I AM the enabler??? LOL!!!! It's what I do best;-) It really is a great deal even when it's not SAB time but this is the best!!!! :-)
You're not required to do workshops or teach classes. If all you want to do is stick your blog and email address on those catalogs and hand them out for free just to get rid of them, you may find yourself with orders to help you meet your minimums and get you a little extra crafting money that you can stay active until it's time to start buying holiday card-making supplies with very little work needed.
