Hi everyone. At the end of April, me and my DH are going to Buffalo for a couple of days and I was wondering if there are any good stamping stores in that area. I know there is Buffalo Stamps & Stuff and I am definitely going there! Any others besides the regular stores like Michaels,etc...??? Thanks for your help, Angel

Well, I've lived here almost all my life (although I'm in the southtowns now) and have never been to Buffalo Stamps and stuff. In my neck of the woods there aren't any small stores that I know of. There is a Hobby Lobby near Dick & George Urban in Depew that opened up at the end of last year. JoAnn's has a few locations, so does AC Moore & Michael's.

Is the Hobby Lobby better/as good as Joann's and AC Moore? Thanks for reminding me about the Hobby Lobby.
DH and I were over in Amherst/Blasdell on the weekend and I totally forgot about the new store. Adding to my mental list if it's worth checking out next time!!
Honestly, I haven't been there yet. I keep driving over there on Sundays and they're not open then! So although I've tried, I've never been able to make it through the doors.
Buffalo Stamps is SOOOO worth it - Tracy, I can't believe you haven't been! You have to go. (What's cool for me is that it's right across the street from Great Skate, so the boys and DH go there, and I have gobs of time at Sharon's store! Excellent game plan!)
Hobby Lobby, to me, is much different than Michael's or Joann's. I haven't been to the new ones in WNY yet, but I used to go to one in Youngstown OH when I lived in Pittsburgh. I know one of my Bflo. friends just went to the new one and said she spent HOURS there, so I think it worth making the time to go to.
Now Angel, you're just going to have to make time for all that yummy Buffalo food that I miss so much! (Right, Tracy?!) ;)

And because I have many friends in CNY word about BS&S has even trickled all the way down south to Dutchess County.
Also wanted to add that there is a link to a gathering in Buffalo (it is full but I think the organizer - LodiChick - has a wait list started). There was one last year too so it seems to be annual and I thought you might want to know about it.
The other link in my siggy is the Syracuse gathering Linda aka lindylou1220 is organizing. Stamping with these ladies is worth the drive ... and I hope I can go but wanted to share the info.

My first meal when we get there is going to be at the Anchor Bar. I LOVE their hot wings!!!!!! We were last down there about 5 years ago and at the time I was only into beading so I've been doing alot of research online about where to go for stamping supplies!!! My first stop for questions is always right here on SCS!I have a feeling I'm gonna love Buffalo Stamps!

I'm really excited about going to Hobby Lobby too!

The Anchor Bar is fabulous and you must try their chicken wings, which I desperately miss living here in Kentucky now. I actually miss a lot of foods and Wegmans. You have to go to the dives. They always have the best stuff. Try Harry's down by the Niagara River. I wish I knew about Buffalo stamps when I lived in NY. We lived an hour and a half away in the Finger Lakes region but I would have gone anyway. If you're going to Buffalo, try to sneak away to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada. It's less than an hour away and so worth it. It's pure beauty. The clock tower in the middle of the main strip there was in the movie It's a Wonderful Life. I could go on but I'll spare you PS: Dress warm!
Well it sounds like I need to plan a trip up to BS&S sometime soon! As far as food, Angel check out Duffs on Sheridan. They have the BEST wings around. Hands down beats the Anchor Bar any time. It's a tiny little place and they usually have a wait on the weekends, but their wings are the best around.
