I just ordered the 48. I can't get the 120 because they are on backorder until 2-7-05, so you wouldn't be able to use the rebate. Michaels sells the 48 colors for $58 (I just got back from there). There is a $5 rebate for the 48 colors, which makes them just under $20. Still a great deal...anyway...we are all happy with SU 48 colors so we should be able to get along ok with ONLY 48 colors in these pencils!
if the sets of 48 at Michaels are about $60, after the coupon they are $36, and the rebate for the 48 is $5, they will end up costing you (not figuring for tax/shipping/mileage issues) $31. It's the whopping big $25 rebate off the 120 set--in addition to the $20 off a $50 order at Viking--that made it such a good deal.
Nope, I missed out on it. But there's always another deal on its way. . .

Of course the 120 count is a way better deal, but I can't get the 120 with the rebate because they are out of stock until February at Viking, so that's why I got the 48 colors. My point was that I will be happy with 48 colors.
I will probably go for the 48 also. If I get to Micheals tomorrow I have a 50% off. So that would be $30.00 plus tax, minus $5.00. If they are that great, I might go for it.

Why not get the 48 from Viking? It will come to under $20 with the rebate. I ordered 2 mono refills to make my order $25 to get free shipping. I used my 40% off to get the blending stumps at Michaels so I am ready to use my pencils when they get here on Tuesday. The kit that I bought at Michaels had several sizes of blending stumps, a file, sharpender and 2 erasers. It was $9.99 and then the 40% off. Now I just have to find a place that carries the odorless mineral spirits!
Ladies, this afternoon, I called Viking, and ordered the 120 set. They said it was backordered but should ship within 5-7 days. Had to jump thru a couple hoops to get the $56.98 price and the $20 off, but she mangaged to figure out why it wasnt coming up. So hopefully I will get them in time for the $25 rebate, if not, She told me I could send them back or cancel them, if they did not ship in time. She was very sweet and friendly. I told her the product number was BLN-3602 and had the discount offer code of DZ-PRD 20 for $20 off a $50 order, and she got it all through. After all this, I read, that they are just actually colored pencils, but the best on the market. I may decide, I do not want them, and anyone who will pay to have them shipped to them and depending on whether or not I get the rebate, can have them for what ever I have in them. If you understood what I meant there. So if you are still interested, I looked up the customer service number off their website and that is what I called, and felt sucessful, we'll see if they come through with the product or not.. Dont give up yet!!!
yes, yes, yes you can order the b/o Prismacolor from Viking and take the $20 discount. I did last night. I figured the wait for them to come in was worth it for this is too good of a deal to be passed up. It will not charge your credit card or show your discount until they actually send them to us. I called and spoke to a service rep to be sure this was correct.

What about the rebate? Do you think these will arrive in time to use it?

I've posted this a few times on other threads, but I specifically asked the Viking rep to check when these pencils would ship (120 count). She told me that their backorders ship within 7-10 days, but the pencils were an exception and wouldn't be available until 2-7-05. She said she was glad I asked her to look because I wouldn't have gotten them on time for the end of the month. So if you don't specifically ask when the pencils will ship, they will just tell you their standard 7-10 days for backorders.
I hope that she was wrong and all of you that ordered them on backorder will get them in time for the rebate. I didn't want to risk not being able to get the rebate for the 120, so I ordered the 48, which is still a good deal and also has a $5 rebate. I'm happy with that as I know I won't be able to get the 48 for that price at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Must depend on where you live and who distributes for Viking. I placed the order no porblem...it took the 20 dollar promo and they are supposed to arrive tomorrow. We don't have a Vking store so must be Office Max or Office Depot. If they actually arrive tomorrow then I can use the 25 dollar rebate and the total cost will be $16.15.
Hey, did you guys know that you can also use regular Crayola Colored pencils? I got a 50 ct package for $8 and some change and they work great with the Gamsol!

Ok Lana...where have you been? You chime in with your $8 find after everyone has scrambled to get the Prismacolor??
Just kidding....but really? The Crayola look good too?
I didn't realize there was this whole big thing on the Gamsol and colored pencils! I am assuming that the Prismacolored pencils will be awesome though. More colors and I bet the lead is softer and easier to use. Just my guess. I'm no expert, but the Crayola's work for me!
I hope this isn't the case but...
I'm reading over the rebate form that I printed off the pdf file on this site and it says "no mechanical reproductions". Does this mean they won't accept the printed form?
