I have tried it for fun. My first shipment came with the paper creased in shipping and materials scattered about through broken bags. I e-mailed them and they graciously replaced it (although I didn't ask). However, the paper in the second set arrived bent also. I called to suggest packaging it differently. The reply was that it would increase shipping cost, which they wouldn't do!!! Hmmmmm. The set was OK, but, the PR...not so much.
I tried for 3 months, not pleased with the instructions and the price was quite high for shipping to Canada. I only tried the one project as it seems I had to go buy some stuff for the other projects. more than likely I will just use the stuff in other cards. Better off to have a Stampin Up party or go to your local store classrooms
I used to belong to Annie's Attic crafts for girls thing. My daughter liked the kits a lot but when we moved I put in a change of address as long before the shipment as I could but it never went through. We missed a few kits that are lost in the USPS ozone but still had to pay for them. Cancelled soon afterwards and I will not try them again.

I was a member. First shipment had defective stamps. Second had stamps that were so thin I am scared to use them cuz they will rip. Third shipment had defective stamps.
By defective, I mean in one case actually looking like a chunk was cut out, and in the other, such a low spot it couldn't be stamped. Several stamps each time.
Plus I cancelled three times before it cancelled, and I had to dipute the last charge (after three cancellings) with my credit card.
It has been a few years since I canceled my subscription to this but I still get mailers from them all the time to renew. You think they could find a better way to spend their advertising dollars. I mean after 3 tries they should totally drop me from their mailing list...I cant imagine what it costs to mail out these envelopes that always have a little free something in them.
blessings.
Please read before you sign up for Cardmaker Kit of the Month!
Cardmaker Kit of the Month Club I got my first order yesterday, which I will say was at 1/2 price, and I'm grateful for that. 2 (and only 2) very thin pieces of paper and very childlike in design. Very flimsy felt flowers and brads with the paint scraped off in places. A small bag of glitter in a color that didn't match anything. 6 stickers and a couple of very small acrylic stamps. Not at all what was advertised and not at all what other people received this month. Why is the introductory package different than the other that is sent out? Oh, and I couldn't be more disappointed that the entire package was "Made in China exclusively for CKMC". China? With all the glorious paper and embellishments here in the states? No thanks!
Thanks! I hated the Creative Stampers club but was considering this one. I thought if it was from Cardmakers it woiuld be higher quality. Thanks for the heads up!
Does anyone belong to this club? Would you recommend it?
Well I don't have the same opinions has everyone............. I've been a member of the Cardmaker, PaperWorks and now Stamping Club for a year, and I like them very much.... i have to admited that the quality of the paper and clear stamps are not the best.... but for the price???.... and you get to make at least 4 cards, teaches you a different techniques everytime?? I find them really nice!!!
Is true that you could get better stuff in the USA but I think is done like this for people that can't spend lots of money on supplies every month or learning news stuff every month.....
I had been a member of this card making club for over a year. Just cancelled. It seemed I had to go search on the internet each month to do the various techniques. I found the instructions unclear.
Im Robin, the product manager for CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club. I appreciate your thoughts on CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club kits. We do try to create kits that will appeal to most card makers, but we realize peoples tastes are as individual as their personalities. We appreciate your feedback on the kits you receive so we can continue to improve on each kits contents and design. Thankfully, thousands of memberslike Patty (Jan. 22 post)enjoy creating cards with our kits and learning the featured techniques.
Customer feedback has prompted two major improvements to the kit club. We have greatly improved the kit packaging, which protects the components from being damaged in the mail. And, recently, we instituted additional quality-control inspections to make sure that everything you receive in your kit demonstrates the high quality toward which we work.
If you are unhappy with one of your kits, you can return it for a refund or replacement. Membership can also be cancelled at any time or even put on hold. Our toll-free customer-service number is (800) 282-6643.
Robin, thank you so much for this message. I am happy to hear that you are making changes with this kit. I may have to try it in the near future, now that I am re-assured that the quality, shipping, contents are being made better, improved. Thank you so much for your message!!
I was a member at one time and did like the kits - it was a nice variety and "stretched" me out of my comfort zone so to speak. Sure, there might be some quality issues - but it's not like you're paying the price of other companies. I looked at it as a learning experience and a way to get ideas. I've actually thought about rejoining but just haven't taken the time to research it again.
I also was a member of the stamp-of-the-month club and didn't like that very well....but it was more because I didn't want to keep getting more stamps that I wouldn't use except with just that specific kit....there was a few issues withe the stamps not stamping that great too. I never contacted the company about it because I just figured gee, for the little amt of $$ I was paying I really couldn't complain too much about the quality.
I realize this thread was started two years ago, so that may be why I am finding it hard to believe what I am reading.
I was a SU! demo for many years, I have a fully stocked beautiful stamping room and I have loads of products. I joined the card maker kit club to have some pre-made projects ready to go for when we are off camping. Nothing like some down time in the 5th wheel!
I have to say, I am so impressed with these kits. Perhaps they have improved in the last two years. I am currently waiting for my third kit. The last kit has everything I need to learn paper quilling, all the tools, papers, and well written instructions. I do not think the products are cheap. And although some products come from China. . . sorry to say, so does half the stuff in your stamping rooms.
I encourage anyone on this thread to give this card club another try.
I belong and love the club. You get all the materials and instructions you need and have scraps left over for other projects. I've learned alot of new techniques. If you receive a kit you don't want just send it back and they credit you. You can have auto pay or invoice.
The stamps are top quality and I use them on other projects also. I did have an issue with 1 stamp and it was replaced with a full kit. I got to make everything again! The customer service is wonderful. I also buy from Annie's Attic from time to time when a good sale is on.
I'd recommend it.

Reason: additional remark
I used to belong to a couple of their kit clubs. I cancelled due to the recession. I really enjoyed the kits. I have thought about joining again. It kept my creativity going when I was having hectic weeks or mojo loss. I would add the kits to my pile of nightly reading and gaming stacks. I could work on the kits a little bit at a time.
I was decluttering my craft room this week and find bits of my kits that I still have like cute paper scraps I keep using or a cute stamp.
I have always had great customer service with Annie's Attic. I had a couple of kits lost in the mail and they credited my account. I have ordered things from Annie's Attic and any problems I had were instantly fixed.
I am thinking of joining this club. I hear it is definately better than it used to be! I think I'm gonna give them a try, as it states you can CANCEL at any time, for ANY reason!! You can't beat that!!
Does anyone belong to this club? Would you recommend it?
I belonged to them for a little while. I had a bad experience with them. For 2 months in a row all I received was the invoice from inside the kit but no kit. I had previously gotten my kits with no problem. When I told them of the problem, they treated me like they didn't believe it was happening. They said they would not send anything else to my address, that I would have to get another address. (Seriously????) We have only lived here a year, and have NO plans of moving.
I am disabled and home-bound. I enjoyed the kits I did receive (2 months). I think the problem may be in their packaging, it is odd that the invoices made it but not the kit. They did replace the 2 missing kits, but the attitude and the way I was spoken to was borderline abusive.
