Hmmm....not that I know of. I do have this on my blog, but it only shows the recent hits and where they are located. It doesn't tell me specifically who the hits were from. Maybe someone can be of more help.

Try sitemeter.com. I've added it so that I get a report on how many visitors, etc.

I have a typepad blog and can only see the web address of the last place the person was on the web. for example, if someone comes to my blog from my link here on SCS, it will show me that, but it doesn't provide me the name or the internet info of the person who is looking at my blog.

It is very interesting to see where folks are on the internet right before they visit my blog!

There are independent utilities you can use, Mary Rose's sitemeter.com sounds like one. I have StatCounter installed on mine, which will show IP addresses and a map and various other things. But as most people have dynamic IP addresses, you can't always identify the same address with the same person. Sometimes I've tagged an address with a name, but then their IP address changes, and I can only recognise it's the same person sometimes from the location. Even mine keeps changing so I can't exclude myself from the stats.

You can't see the person, but you can see how they got there and more info if you set up Google Analytics on your site. It's very valuable - and free!

I'm a happy Statcounter user too. You can choose a visible or invisible counter.

I use StatCounter, too. But, I don't think I've looked at the reports in 2 years. LOL!

Sometimes I look at my Typepad stats to see where people came from before they got to my place.

I also use Google Analytics too, it's very helpful (I use it mostly for my Etsy shop) I have Wordpress for my blog and they tell you how many hits you get each day, if they clicked to your site from another blog, which parts of your blog have been clicked on, etc. It's a nice feature.

I like BlogPatrol better than Site Meter. It shows who came (via computer IP addy), how long they were there, where they came from...also will list out the search terms used to get there via Google or whatever. I just think it is more comprehensive.

The reason I was asking is I am wanting to include some personal family stuff on my blog but am not sure I want to if I can't know who is actually accessing it.

There's no way to know specifically who (their identity) is accessing it, if it's public.

If you keep your blog private/password protected, then you have much greater control over who sees it; only those that have the password can access it.
