all those "little guy" online stores...

it seems i'm always looking for a new item of some sort, and someone always points me in the direction of a different online store. i love to shop from the little guys, but it's so hard to remember who has what. how do you keep them straight? who's the best that you absolutely have to order from all the time? maybe we could start a thread of different online stores we like, that way we'll have them all in one place!

I keep a list of all the one's I buy from on my blog. So anytime I buy anything from someone new i updated it. Works great...

When I bookmark a new site I put the name of the item they have as the beginning of their URL. Ex. I buy zig cases from Scrapinsanity so my bookmark for them is: pen case scrapinstanity.com. I use names like: great paper, animal stamps, word stamps, storage, etc. Then when I view my list of book marks I can remember why I liked the site. Some sites I may have duplicate entries in my list so I can find them by url or by the item.

I use IE and they work just fine. You are renaming what is displayed not the actual link (url).

I update them on my blog or put them on my favorites. Once you buy repeatedly it's hard to forget them! I just ordered from allthatscraps.com...check em out!

I have a section in my Favorites for "places I buy stuff" Then I put in my own title and comments like ATS - All that Scraps Free shipping $10 or CHF-great Backgrounders free shipping $35 those are the two I buy from the most online

Actually I have both ;)

I have folders for words, organizing, etc. and the bookmark text that is displayed is be something like "great card racks" but the properties is the actual url.

To see how this works in IE

Display your favorites
Put your cursor on one of your bookmarks
Right click and select Properties to display the properties window
Select the Web Document Tab
The actual name of the url will be displayed

When you rename you are just changing what is displayed in your list of favorites. HTH
