Ever have one of those days!!!:confused:
Here is my delima; I am getting ready for my Therapy Card Nite and in the process I remember that I need to reink my basic blacks because they are getting light. So I send my sis (bless her heart) up to my room to grab my basic black refill and she grabbed my staz on and I inked up all of my basic blacks with it before I realized it was the wrong one. So how bad will this ruin my basic black pads? What should I do??? Please, any advice is appreciated.:p
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think that I would take the pads and rinse them under running water until most of the ink is gone ... get as much of the Staz On out as possible, and then re-ink them with the correct refill. I think that would work. I think its worth a try.
stampin4smiles.....I wouldn't worry about it. Just use the re-inked pads as Stazon and purchase new pigment ink pads. They aren't that expensive. I don't see it as worth worring about it.

Stazon will not wash out with water.

I wouldn't recommend that as the integrity of the Stazon has been compromised by whatever Basic Black was still on the pad. You can use the pad as Basic Black, but don't count on it like Stazon.
If you do use it as Basic Black, though, remember that it is going to dry out much more quickly due to the Stazon, so keep the pad closed as much as you can.

GWTW Junkie......Since the Stazon is the more dominant ink, that will to some extent govern the inking ability of the damaged pad. Obviously, it will not be the same as a true Stazon pad.
My point being that use the damaged pad rather than throw it away.
I also have to say that I don't re-ink my pads. When they dry out, I just replace them. By the time they dry, the pad is not flat as new and will not ink the stamps as well as when new. I don't see it as a huge expense to replace it. in most cases you're talking about a few years before re-inking anyway. If your pads dry before that, you are a heavy user and I feel should be replaced. Just my opinion.
I am just leaving it as is. I basically use these pads for my Therapy Card Nites anyway, so really they are only used once a month for a few nights. Personally, I like using the Staz On ink for my cards. If it was more of a promoting thing I might change it, but I really didn't see much difference. It's not like I totally jucied them up!
Glad it seems to be working out for you. I actually did a similar thing once by using Blush Blossom to refill my Pretty in Pink pad but it looks really nice so I keep it that way and just got a new PIP pad.
So why is my "black" ink from SU now a dark purple? I went to make a great snowman card and it looks like I ran it off of a gestetner machine. (for those of you who are old enough to remember them)

Hm. I had an old style SU black pad, and it got VERY dry, so I reinked it with an OLD SU reinker. OK, the pad was terribly thirsty, I had to pump a lot of ink onto it, and it kept sucking it right up, but colorwise, it's a nice black color. Is the purple thing a recent problem with SU? I heard they had to recall a lot of Bermuda Bay pads because the color was terrible.
