So, I know you are going to get tired of the questions, Im sorry.
I have seen some fabulous cards that list Crystal Effects as a supply. I just came home disappointed from wal-mart. The lady in crafts had NO idea what I was talking about so she couldnt even suggest me an alternative...
Is there an alternative? Can someone link me to Crystal Effects to get it online?
And since we're talking adhesives...
So far Ive been using Crafters glue, Mod podge, and Permanent Glue runner from Ad Tech...
what is your "go to" adhesive????
if allowed... (please LINK ME to it if you have a sec...)

Crystal Effects is the Stampin Up brand name. There are other I think called glass effects or something like that. Michaels sells similar brands but I can't think of the name of them.
I use the AdTach brand of tape runner from Walmart. I think it is much better than the Tombow SNAIL. My cards do not fall apart and it is much cheaper.
Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents by Ranger are 2 good substitutes for Crystal Effects. Do you have a local stamp or scrapbooking store? They should have one or both of these in stock.
As far as regular adhesive, I usually use Scotch Quick Dry. A little goes a LONG way, and a bottle lasts forever!
My favorite product that is similar to Crystal Effects is Aleene's Paper Glaze. The effect is the same but what is nice about this product is that the product has NEVER dried up in the tip so it has worked every time from the first squeeze. Aleene's makes some other very good adhesive products and can be found at JoAnns and Michaels and other craft stores.
Sakura also makes a similar product called Crystal Lacquer. Their website is http://www.sakuracraft.com/ and I also like their colored Crystal Lacquers. It comes in several color choices.
I read somewhere on this site of a lady who uses fabric glue that you can get Walmart by the craft section. I'm going to try it since it would be cheaper and if it holds like the diamond glaze then my adhesive problems would be solved.
I'm a glue junkie. I've tried a lot of different adhesives. I started out using glue sticks and became a glue stick aficionado. Needless to say, glue sticks are not precise. They do the job but as my crafting has expanded, so has my glue library.
I used to be a Tombow tape runner person, until my cards started falling apart as I was giving them. Tape runners are excellent and I wish there was a stronger duct-tape like bond to them, because they are clean and no running of glue. But alas, until there is such a tape, I'm still searching for the perfect adhesive!
I was then a Martha glue adhesive person, and still am. Her little tiny rolling ball point glue pen is perfect for little tiny things you need to glue down.
I've also been a Tombow Mono Multi adhesive person. This glue is great - it doesn't soak your project. However, it is a liquid white glue and be careful how you use it - a little goes a long way.
I've also used Elmer's Memory Book Glue Pen, only because I was out of Mono Multi and needed something quick, and I will NEVER touch that again! It's a gel glue, which I don't have a problem with, but it SOAKS even the thickest papers and warps it while it dries - BLAH! :mad:
Basically, it's a personal preference and everyone will have a different opinion. This has only been my personal experience with adhesives. If you find something great that you like, let us know!!! Adhesives are the number ONE consumable product for Paper Artists and I know everyone, including me, is looking for the next best thing!
I am a Tombow Multi user the one with the green lid, I love this stuff. And I also only use SU! Crystal Effects. After I am done using it I store it upside down and have never had a clogging problem. I tried Diamond Glaze once but it didn't seem as clear. CE can also be used for so many other uses including fixing the nose piece on eye glasses.

Walmart also sells Scotch Scrapbooking Glue. I use that also and it works!! Nothing is going to fall apart after using that!!
I also used it as a substitute for Crystal Effects/Diamond Glaze when I ran out and it worked just fine.
If you have a SU demo, you can order the Crystal Effects from her.
For every stamper and every purpose there is a different adhesive. I have and use the following on a regular basis, so they are all at my work table within reach:
* ATG
* Mono Multi
* Mono adhesive (for little pieces the ATG can't get)
* Glue dots
* Scor Tape
* UHU glue sticks
* Quickie Glue Pen
* Pop dots
* Xyron X and sticker maker
* Post It glue stick
* Dotto roller with repositionable adhesive
There are others in storage (PPA, Take It Over and Over, modge podge, etc) that I use infrequently. So take your next 2 months stamping budget and buy every adhesive you can find. LOL!

i use the same walmart ad tech brand for the workshops, cheaper than the tombow, but i use the one that's not permanent, i use the one with dots, it's just like the blue permanent case, only it's purple and called glue dot runner, it is easier to pull and refit your card stock into place. same price only way less frustrating than the permanent.
After trying a variety of adhesives, I'm now "stuck" on Scotch Quick Dry. You can put a tiny line of it all around the edge of your card and them some in the middle for good measure. Then you have a couple of seconds to smoosh your work into place. Love it!
