My personal favorite is Hermafix tabs. I also like the dotto dispenser. If you do a search on this you should be able to find lots of threads discussing adhesive preferences.
My demo uses a 3M tacky adhesive (sold at target- in a long tube that is red and purple) and she also recommended the Momo Tomboy (or something like that) sold at Michael's. She sells some of her cards and does not like to worry about them falling apart in the mail.
I've got the Dotto...the permanent adhesive sticks really well. The only thing is it gets all gummed up inside and needs cleaning with adhesive remover every so often. The refills can be had for reasonable prices on a certain auction website

I love mono multi for the stick power that it has. It is the green and white bottle. You can get it online for about $1.99 a tube, and it last FOREVER. Honestly you can get at least 100 or more cards from it. I did 75 cards, and one of the cards had 5 seperate layers and it worked GREAT! I use just a thin line about 1/8 of an inch from the edges all the way around. A little is better with this glue. Also found the adhesive eraser that SU sells (which is a xyron brand one, btw), works great for getting off any that accidentally gets on the card. Just let it dry and then rub it off.

I have just switched to the Mono Multi after reading about all the great things on this site. Besides cards, I have also used it on the nugget boxes and card portfolios. I think it is great and a little does go along way.

I love Dotto, but it gets expensive, so I mostly use it for scrapbooking. When I make cards, I usually use the Scotch double-sided tape. I don't know if it is archival safe or acid free, but for cards I don't really care about it.
i have tried everything under the sun from the most expensive to the cheapest brands and never could find anything that worked really well UNTIL i came across the Ad Tech brand at WALMART........it works awesome! it has a great hold and i have yet for anything i have used it on to come apart. the price is excellent and i grab some everytime i am in the store, whether i need it or not. just my 2 cents lol
I use one that is in a red dispenser-sold in the office section at Wally but can't remember the brand....actually, anything but the one SU sells....love SU stuff, except they have the worst adhesive in scramping world in my opinion!
I just tried using some of the quick-dry tacky adhesive. It stuck well, but warped some of my nonSU! paper, and it was messy. Does anyone else have this problem? It made me more fond of the snail adhesive.
I use the squares from the Dollar General Store, they are 1.00 for 250 of them. Have never had cards fall apart and they are in the right price range as I made cards to sell the last few weeks and I used 3 boxes.

I've tried so many adhesives, and usually I end up with scotch double stick tape. I love the convenience of snail adhesive and herma, but with herma it doesn't hold, and snail is just too expensive if you're doing a swap. I go through a ton of adhesive. It takes a second longer to pull off a piece of tape, but the hold is very strong once you push it down and it sets. At first you can move it if you're careful, but after a day, that baby's stuck.
Double stick tape, Double stick tape, Double stick tape, Double stick tape, Can't live without it. I've tried most others on the market but that's it. Oh, and my little X Xyron.
Ditto that! I used all the small ones for years (spending an absolute fortune) and saw somebody with one of those huge bulky ATGs. Thought I'd never like it but it's the best $$ I've ever spent on my hobby! I ordered it from E-Bay (a little cheaper) and order the archival tape off E-Bay in 6 packs.
I stumbled across this site one day, took a chance and got some-- love it love it love it!! Extremely economical too- I have used it to adhere carstock, ribbon buttons and even embossed on it. This is too cool. hth
Kendra, I'm curious about the Ad Tech adhesive you mentioned in your post. Where do you find it at Walmart's. I'm always looking for a "better" type of adhesive as sometimes, my cards become unstuck and it's always when you least expect it to. Thanks! [email protected]
Hi everyone. Just wanted yu to know I finally got all my music box tins done. The Mod Podge worked well on the bottom of the tins (with the cardstock) and I went and got a new Xron and ran all my decorations for the top (after painting and sealing with m/p) and they turned out great. I almost hate to part with them. I love my Xyron.
