Default Adhesive for Alphbits??

I just got my preorder Spring Mini stamps yesterday - what do you use to adhere the little squares and circles from this set?? Some of you might have the "I'm Here" set, which also has a similar stamp with letters.

Here's a card I just LOVE:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

It looks like LaurenStamps60 used mini glue dots for the letters!? That seems like it would be tricky! Maybe the little Xyron would work best?
Any experience with these little guys?

I just got my set and have been experimenting and I have come to the conclusion that the best way to work with these little buggers is to xyron the cardstock first, then stamp, then punch. MUCH BETTER!!

I agree - Xyron all the way, baby! It's a tougher punch, but SO worth it!

Jenn,
When you use your xyron I'm assuming  that you run the whole alphabet through the xyron, then punch out the letters you need, then peel off the protective xyron paper. My question is, will the xyron adhesive start to gum up the punch? If so, how do you recommend cleaning the punch?

Thanks in advance for your wisdom, and anyone else's thoughts!

use a Qtip and some Un-do to clean the punch if it gets gunky from the xyron

I hadn't gotten so far as to think about the punch gumming! But I think that the undo/googone would work w/a qtip as suggested.

I was trying to use the 2-way, and that worked well. But I kept loosing the bitty punchies! So I stamp, run through xyron, then I cut into strips so that it's easier to punch. I've been keeping the extra letters in the stamp box.

I just realized that that sounds like I've actually *used* the stamps more than once. I've used one of them, but can't wait to play more tonight!

Hi Jenn - Just curious why do you do this? Doesn't the punch reach far enough? :? Linda

You all might find some self locking tweezers to help you hold and apply these while using two-way glue to be helpful.

Duh. . . I don't remember why I did that. I don't think it reached. . . .but I was doing it in the middle of the night after Regionals. .. so take what I say with a grain of salt there!

I was waiting to see some discussion on this. I have not used mine yet but had been thinking about the best way. I thought about using the Xyron but worried about the punch getting gummy. Thought about mini dots too.

I think for demo purposes mini dots would be the way to go. You have to think about ease of demo'ing and also if you involve the Xyron as a solution........well how are you going to sell this set to customers when it looks like you have to have an expensive tool to use your stamp set. Know what I mean??

The circle & square punch doesn't reach all the way to the middle of the alphabits set.

you can always use the self adhesive lable sheets that you can get in the stationary department of Walmart or Target. They are white, so you can color them with a sponge, or direct to paper. Stamp the alphabet, punch out the letters, then peal of the backing and stick!

Should work great, and less likely to gum up the punch then xyron.

Good luck!

Are you speaking of the new punches that are in the Spring Mini? They really don't reach all the letters in the Alphabits? Linda
