Exclamation acrylic jumbo clothespins??

I bought these over a year ago and now am ready to alter them but I'm not sure how to go about it. What is the bet way to do this? I'm thinking I will be using designer paper, do I need to sand them? They are going to be Christmas gifts so it's going to have to be quick and easy.

PLEASE HELP LOL
TIA
CIndy

I love the look of the shiny acrylic so I would keep the DSP to a minimum and alter them with some nice diecut or punched shapes, stamped, embellished, etc., near the part that actually clamps stuff and keep the "legs" clean looking. If you want to cover the acrylic, I would recommend a strong adhesive like sticky sheets (aka red liner) and not use glue.
Can you post a photo when they are done?

I made some of these a couple of years ago and just put a strip of paper and some embellishments on the front, so that most of the close peg showed through. I also added some strong magnets to the back so they could be hung on the fridge. I was able to find some red ones and they looked great for Christmas!

Oh those are great ideas!! I finished them. I decided that I didn't want to mess with at all. I used black staz on all over them then added rub ons and jewels and a flower. It took me all of about 20 minutes They wont win any awards but they don't look too bad and I think they will go with the recipeints decor, well I hope they will.. tee hee.

I have been having troubles getting anything uploaded to my gallery but I will give it another try..

Thanks again for the ideas!
