Default ? about unmounted stamps meant for wood...

Hope someone else has had this experience and can help.

I bought the SU Thoughts and Prayers set which is only available as a wood mount. However, I like to use acrylic blocks so I didn't mount it. But...it happens to be meant for double mounting and the stickers are very small and don't cover the entire foam shape and the foam is EXTRA clingy since it's meant to be on the wood.

Now when i take the stamps on and off the acrylic blocks, the foam backing is tearing due to the strong adhesive. Help!! I don't know how to stop this from happening and still be able to use the stamp with the acrylic blocks.

TIA for and help!

Tack & Peel sheets...If you leave that sticky foam on the stamp, you can cover it with tack & peel and it clings to the acrylic block...

Or if you have any Ailene's Tack It Over & Over glue, or Mono Multi in the green & white bottle, just spread that over the back of the stamp - over all the sticky foam and the label if you put one on. After the glue dries, stick the stamps to the back of your hand or your jeans a couple of times, and the stamps will work just like the EZ mount cling ones that you're used to.

It might even work to just stick the stamps on & off your hand or jeans the way they are now and that might reduce the stickiness enough that they'll work on the blocks, but I haven't tried that. I know the glue will work

The way that the stamp came from SU. is to be use with wood. (Cause it's sticky)

You'll have to do something else to keep it from sticking to your acrylic blocks they way they are now.

You might just need to put it on some Clingy Vinyl. Or pull of the Foam mounting and put the Ez-mount Foam on your stamp.

What I do when I have a set that is meant to be double mounted is I stamp the image onto a page protector with Stazon ink. I then cut it out and adhere it to the stamp and then coat it with Mono-multi and let it dry. Works great and I have a sticker on the back of the image. I read it somewhere on here.

or..remove the foam stuff....a few secs in the microwave works to loosen and then you have a regular unmounted stamp. I used them with a few pieces of double stick tape on an acrylic block. I refuse to put all of my UM's on cling foam!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Thumbs up Tack & Peel

I like this the best. Tack it Over was a big mess for me. I let them set up over nite to dry.. The glue is really hard to get off URhands. :-xI didn't like how they stuck to my stamps etc.
I use parchment paper to wrap my acrylic blocks in to store in my drawer.
I like using the Scotch double sided tape for a cheap way to use on my blocks. I can always put more on if needed till I can buy more Tack n Peel

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Love the idea of creating a cover with the page protector and staz on. Will try that out for sure!
