I don't remember where I saw the post about the binder with all of our stamps in it for ease of decision making, so I'm going to post my idea here.
First of all, I don't have that many stamps yet to need a binder. Then again, this may be the best time to start one so that I don't have to do a lot of catching up later, right? Anyway, instead of stamping all of your sets on paper, why not take the whole set, in the box and place it on the scanner (rubber side up) and just scan the set all at once? I kept seeing that everyone thought it was a good idea to make the binder, but no one had time to do it. Scanning would be a lot faster than stamping them all, cleaning them all and putting them back in their assigned locations.
I guess along this same line, you could scan the catalog pages showing your sets and crop out, or for a low-tech alternative, X out the portion of the page containing any stamps you didn't own...
If nothing else, this might be a quick way to catch up with the stamps you already own (as long as they're from a current catalog, and from there on out, you could stamp them as you got them. Also, when you get new stamps, before you mount them, you could scan the label page and put that in your binder, too.

Actually you WANT to stamp all your stamps! The reason being, if there is a defect in the rubber you need to find it within the first 90 days so SU can replace the rubber for you! It might take longer, but you'll be happy when you find that rubber that need replacing. It happened to me, and I wouldn't have caught it had I not been making my binder and stamping the images right away!

And besides that, if you stamp them, you can tell your dh, "Of course I've used all my stamps." LOL
You could also take the stamps out of the package and put them on top of a white piece of paper and take a picture, then you can print that out on paper too! That way when you scan it you won't get all that black shadowing printed and waste ink
I love the stamping idea but man that would take me FOREVER!
I have done mine 2 different ways. If they are already mounted, then I stamp them on paper. If they are not mounted yet, I make a copy of the stickers that go on the wood. Just scan the sheet and into the binder it goes! I put mine in alphabetically along with different tutorials I printed etc. That way everything is real handy in one binder!
I take the sticker page and make 3 copies of it as soon as I get new stamps.
2 copies on plain white paper. One goes in my binder, and one back into the box so I don't get confused if there are little blocks that tumble around.
The 3rd copy is on bright pink paper and this also goes back in the stamp box to indicate "current" status. If it retires, I just throw away the pink paper and the plain white copy is left on top to show "retired".

Cool ideas here. I started the stamping in night of navy, then I stopped because I had to order a re-inker. Now I kid of forget where I put the ones that are already done, so I have to go back and check my binder. Then I still have tons to do.
I do think I will use the idea of copying the stickers from now on. That just makes sense.
I actually got all mine stamped! Now I need to get a binder for them... I just sat down one night while watching tv with DH, and got it done. Good thing, because there are more coming in next week to mount and stamp. I think in the future, as I get them mounted, I'll stamp them and put their sheet in the book with the others.
