Default ? About selling handstamped cards and other items

I was wondering if SU! demonstrators are allowed to sell their handstamped cards/items on ebay?

I am not a demo, but to answer your question, demos are not allowed to sell hand-stamped items on eBay -- and neither is anyone else. There's a stipulation in the Angel Policy that says you can't sell anything made with SU! images in any permanent retail location, and while they don't mention eBay by name, they do include online stores in that description.

I did get permission recently from Demo Support to put up a flyer (with the owner's permission, of course) in retail locations advertising that I make hand-stamped cards. The flyer doesn't mention the SU! name or use any SU! images. They had me e-mail them a copy of the flyer, and within a day I had the okay to go ahead and post them!

I thought if you stamped the "hand-stamped" and stampin' up logo on the back it was OK to sell them. Maybe I misunderstood - but I would love to know for future reference! Hope someone knows for sure.

Thanks!

Not a demo here either but the Angel Policy is online at:
http://www.stampinup.com/web2001/angelpolicy.asp

I direct you attention to point #4 in particular:
4. You may sell your craftworks at community fundraisers, seasonal boutiques or bazaars, or other temporary craft events. However, the Stampin’ Up! name, trademarks, or logos cannot be used at any location where personal hand-stamped items are sold, nor may they be used in any manner to solicit sales of such items. Hand-stamped items cannot be sold in any permanent retail location (any location that conducts business in a store, consignment shop, kiosk, mall, or Internet site), nor may they be sold to other vendors for resale purposes, nor may they be sold at Stampin’ Up!–demonstrator-sponsored events such as workshops, stamp camps, open houses, etc.

Hi!

I am a demo for SU! It is true that you may sell handmade cards, etc. using the SU! images AS LONG AS you use one of the Angel Policy "hand stamped by" approved stamps. HOWEVER - you are not allowed to sell in any permanent retail location. You may not sell on a website. You CAN sell at craft fairs. I have sold handmade cards and other products at craft fairs using SU! stamps - and have done fairly well. Put out a mailing list signup and perhaps create a quarterly newsletter with information on what you are working on, what you are taking orders for, etc.

I have a friend who owns a scrapbooking and stamping store. She has other contacts of people who own stores and sell handmade items. However, Stampin' Up! does not allow me to sell handmade products at any of these locations.

If you are interested in getting your information out there (for selling handmade products), I would recommend doing what Rachel did - create a flyer or business cards describing what you do - but do not use the Stampin' Up! name or any of their designs on this flyer/business card. Get approval - better to be on the safe side.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks - that clears it up. I had thought about selling cards at a craft show and had thought it was OK. It sounds like that's OK as long as it has the stamp on the back.

Thanks again,
