Hello. I have the 8-1/2 x 11 as well as the 6 x 6 SU albums. I'm not an avid scrapbooker (I prefer cards), but I participated in an 8-1/2 x 11 scrapbook page swap a while back, just to try and fill the album for ideas that SU customers can see. And yes, the SU 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock fits in quite nicely .
I'm not much of a scrapbooker but I do dabble - mostly for gifts, and I really like the 8 1/2 x 11. It is not so overwhelming to do as a 12 x 12 and yet you can incorporate several pictures on each page. They also fit better on everyones book shelfs !!
I just received my first order of SU leather albums and they are wonderful. It may inspire me to create an album for myself - what a novel idea !!
I love the 8 1/2 x 11, I have not actually used the SU brand but have made tons of albums in this size, they are quick and easy and you can do double page layouts if you have a few photos.
My 6 year old loves to scrapbook with me and he can easily make this size of page - we also used it at a scrapbook class for kids and provided paper and page protectors and they brought them home each week to put in the album.

I have been doing 8.5 x 11 for years, and have Stampin' Up albums, and they are a true size, and really good quality. I originally chose that size because they fit on a shelf better, but I am LOVING 6x6, and just bought a 12x12, as my skills get better, I need more room on a page. You will not regret buying a SU album, the quality of the album and the page protectors are great.
I don't have an SU one, but my first two scrapbooks were 8 1/2 X 11. I would still recommend them, but only if you can find somebody to develop your pictures into 3 1/2 X 5. The larger 4 X 6 are just TOO large, and I don't know why it's such a popular size! I have a hard time using it in my 12 X 12!!
Anyway, I enjoyed my 8 1/2 X 11 books, and I'm sure you will too!
I have done (A PAGE) in 8 1/2 x 11 and found that I really dont' like the size. I do 6x6 now thanks to this site!! and I have been doing 12x12 for a few years now and love that size!! In the 12x12 I scrapbook all my kids at the same age on 1 page and it works out great!!
I have several of SU's 8 1/2 x 11 books. LOVE THEM! I have the pecan, 2 burgundy and a navy linen. I would not go with linen unless it is a specific subject book that will not have too many pages. It will not expand and fit as many as the leather albums will. They are wonderful quality and I hope they expand their line this year. They fit the pages very well.
My DH and I don't live near our Grandchildren, so to keep memories alive for them I scrapbook all our vacations together. I use the 8 1/2 x 11 size because it is easy for them to hold, read and to show off. I scrapbook one complete album, then scan and print each page on photo paper for each of them and insert into their own vacation book. They love it.
I'm thinking about using this size for baby albums. Not sure what colors to go with as I have 3 daughters and 1 son.
Any ideas?
I WISH they had more Designers Series albums, with a baby theme, and a school theme. I know, contact SU and let them know... I was all excited to see new ones this year, then they limited their selections!!
