Default 50th anniversary invite again

Since my parents burst my bubble on the 50's theme, I'm trying to create the "perfect" invitation! I REALLY wanted to stamp "You're invited" w/ my Sincere Salutations stamp, but reality is setting in & it's not about ME! I'm trying to combine a card Calgramma sent me---oh, I can post it for her here!

I want to change it a bit & put a picture on the white cardstock underneath, then have words on top on vellum. That way I can stamp a bit of gold on the card, too. I might still stamp the "YOu're invited" on the envelope! What do you think of this?

I love the idea of having their picture on there...it looks really nice! Unfortunately, I can't see much detail because the card comes up too small.

Lori,
When I made mine, I stamped 'A Special Invitation to You' (non-SU) on the envelope flap. So...go for it Girl!! And, please...post your final creation for us to all ooh and ahh over, K?

Default 50th or 25th?

Hi - I just had a question. The title to this thread is 50th anniversary invite, but the actual invitation says they are celebrating their 25th anniversary. I just wanted to point this out in case it was an accidental mistake. Beautiful invitation - just wanted to be sure the # of years is correct. My parents 50th party is in only 4 weeks - just mailed the invites last weekend. So glad to have that done! I didn't include a picture of them and I do like that touch -it enables people to see your parents who are not able to attend the party! Good luck and have fun!

I think the ideas you have are great. I really like the "you're invited" on the envelope idea. Please be sure to post the final pic when you've completed it. I'm sure it will be stunning.

Hi Stacy! The one I'm going to make is for my parents 50th. The one I posted is one that Jeri (Calgramma) made for a 25th anniversary & had sent me. I posted it b/c she wasn't able to & I loved it! I'll change it to gold, of course.

Did you make the invites for your parents? If so, did you scan it? Would love to see any ideas! THanks!

What a neat invititation! That's a great idea with the picture and the silver "trim"--will be cool in gold, too. Congratulations to your parents, BTW!

Default 50s theme

There is really nothing special about the invite that I made my parents. There was no stamping involved - no time for that. We are doing a 50s theme and so I used the paper from Karen Foster's 50's line and layered black CS - the 50's paper and then velum with the info on it - all tied together with a black & white checked ribbon. Our colors are aqua, pink & black. You could use the classic convertibles set to make a card 50s as well - those are really cute. Used it to make some cards that are included with the invite on which people are to write a memory of my parents. These are stamped in black and color in either aqua or pink - too cute and very 50s!
Good luck
Stacy

I'm also making 50th anniversary invites! Your example is awesome. I am copying their wedding picture to use as a background. Layering vellum over and using ivory/gold ribbon at the top. I love how an old picture looks through the vellum! Details of the invite will be printed on the vellum! Good luck with yours! How many do you have to make? I think I'm making around 30!
