$1/1 card
$5/scrapbook page (since I am starting to do digital, I will probably do less, and I want some extra $$ to account for embellishments)
$2/book read
Not that I don't need to exercise, but I was back in school last semester and didn't get to read for pleasure much so, I am trying to get back in the groove.
What am I doing, you all understand, I don't need to justify it all to you!!;)
Pam
7 card=$7, 13 scrapbook pages=$65, 1 book read=$2
TOTAL EARNED $80, SPENT $15
Do any of you teach classes or anything like that? I'm wondering how to account for items I need to purchase for classes and open houses and workshops and the like. Because while I may make a few cards, the majority of the work won't be being done by me.

I'd say that's a business expense and doesn't count towards your Alloted/Spent.
However... if you use 25% of the materials you purchase for personal use - then count that 25% in your Alloted/spent.
make sense?

OK, I've talked myself into signing up for this. I will probably fall off the wagon pretty quickly, though. I'm already behind, and we're not even one full week into the year!!
I just got back from my Weight Watchers meeting and I lost 2.8 lbs. That gives me another $2.80. I'm only $2.60 in the hole right now and I can get back into the positive column when I go to the gym this afternoon. I need to build up a reserve for Stamp Club next week!

Way to go on the weight loss! I love Weight Watchers, it has been the best program for me.

I think I'd better play too (after visiting the craft sales ... oops!)
I sell my cards for 1.50 so I'm just going to do a straight earned/spent list.
Hopefully it will reign in my spending a bit!
I gotta get more cards done tonight since I fell in love with the new Pacific Point color last night (first time I used it from my sampler pack). LOL. If nothing else this STS is getting me to stamp more. I was on such a roll last night I didn't go to bed till 2am! LOL

Glad to see there is another quilter out there. Love both crafts.
Hi. Glad to "meet" a fellow quilter. I am still learning how to quilt. I have only really been at it about 2 or 3 years now but love it. I have been making quite a few quilts to give away this time but am in the midst of making one for myself. YEAH.

Thanks for the info on the envelopes also.
I'm doing my first hard quilt, it is a point on point with really little squares, it is for my Mom and I hope to finish it this month. I have been quilting for a few years, but never seem to finish them. I have material for 6 quilts and my goal to finish them before I buy more fabric.
My problem is that I love fabric as much as I love paper. There is something about the colors, the feel, and the potential that just enables me. I noticed I really had a problem between the two crafting mediums when I started looking at material and thinking 'wouldn't that make great paper for a card'.
:-D

I think I FINALLY have this all figured out!
OKKKKKaaay! I've been reading and reading and I think I have this all figured out, so I am changing my plan just a little bit.
I don't "exercise" -- I'm in a wheelchair -- but I do post cards and instructions on my blog (but not NEARLY as often as I should). So.... here's my plan:
Greeting cards and ATC's - $1 each
Small (6-8 inch) scrap book two-page lay-out - $3
Large (12 inch) scrap book two-page lay-out - $5
Small altered item (like a post it holder) - $1
Medium altered item - $3
Large and complex altered item - $5
Blog post with pictures (brief) - $3
Blog post with pictures and detailed instructions - $5
One question: do we update this thread every month, every week, whenever hte spirit moves us, never .......?
Thanks CareBear for starting the 2009 thread! I have yet to stamp (keeping that old signature til I stamp in '09), but I can't wait! DH and I found out I was pg in August and I have only stamped once since then. Then we moved in December and organizing my stamp stuff made me miss it even more. That should be my motivation to get everything in the house put away-no guilt when I spend time stamping. I like the spread sheet and the dry erase board idea. I would love to do as well as I did last year, but I am not in a stamp club this year, which really motivated me last year (but I spent more because of it too). And I say that no one should feel guilty about being "in the hole"--pat yourself on the back for keeping track and being accountable!

I've come to the conclusion it does have to do with color. I saw in one of somewhere that when it comes to trying to decide color combinations for your layouts, look to fabric patterns. A walk through a fabric store will tell you the color/pattern combinations are endless. If you like the look of a particular fabric color/pattern, chances are it will become one of your favorite paper combinations.
So for those of us who are quilters/sewers - or have a closet full of clothes - when we're stuck for what to pull from our paper hoard, look to our other 'stashes' for inspiration!

Thanks for the welcome... well, if you don't see me posting, it probably means that my spending is waaaaaaay over budget!
LOL I'm just going to 'window shop'. I'll have a long wish list when the time comes. I do have to say this has already helped. I got the Oriental Trading Scrapbooking issue yesterday. NOT a good thing! But thanks to my STS group - I've only made a wish list and will just keep stamping along. :-D

I am in. I am going to go with the $1 per card, $5 per layout or $5 altered items. I am hoping this helps me get motivated to start using more of my stash and to stop buying so much; maybe I will actually save some money.
I want to make a change to mine.
$1 per card
$3 per layout
$3 per altered item
$5 permini album
$1 per 10 minutes exercise
Since my New Year's resolution is to lose some weight I thought I would add that also. I have been scrapping for about 3.5 years and I might have gotten 20 layouts done so I hope this challenges me to get more done and stop shopping so much.
Thanks for the spreadsheet Mrs Clark!

I have not tried anything really hard yet. I have a IRL friend that is willing to teach me how to do the paper piecing method so we will see how that works;).
I probably have just as much fabric as paper. My MIL tried to start quilting and the quit so she gave me her stash plus I am about as bad at throwing away small pieces of fabric as I am paper.
I am exicted though I finished a quilt last night!! YEAH ME!!!! and I am actually keeping this one for myself.
UH OH...I am way in the whole already. Yesterday, I placed a HUGE SU Order for Retired Stamps & Accessories, Inventory Blowout, and Demo Pre-order Items. I better get to stamping, organizing and exercising!!
After some tweaking, this is my plan:
$2 per card (Because I always stamp inside and envie too)
$25 per CCC-09 Set of 10
(I only get the $5.00 bonus if I get all 10 done in the actual month due)
$5 per 6x6 BVC Challenge
(I only get an $1.00 if I do not get it done in the actual month due)
$3 per 1/2 hour of Stamping Stuff organization
(To get ready for my new Craft room :-) )
$1.00 Exercise per 5 min (Because I hate to exercise)

Great Idea, I will have to try that.

I'm hoping to get some quilting done this spring. I'd love to enter the local quilt show in Sept. Hmmmm stamped quilt blocks.
Thanks.
I have a couple of quilts that I need to finish but am hoping that I get some birthday money so I can purchase the "good" material to finish some of them. One of the local quilt stores does a Second Saturday class, where you pay $5 in January for the block and if you come back in Feb with the finished block you get the next one for free!! I have 48 blocks from last year that I would like to make into a king size quilt for our bed but obviously have not "earned" enough money yet for that. Guess I should get a bunch of cards made to "earn" some money.
I am really impressed that you are looking to enter a quilt show - my quilts are not anywhere near the level to enter into a quilt show but I really enjoy making them.
