PS wedding invitations that are very plain are around 12 for $30 in the wedding section of the craft store. the kind that you print on the computer and tie a ribbon on. so if you are making your own i would say to figure at least $8 a set for the Invie, Envie, RSVP car and envie.

ACK! I just updated my siggy today from the SU! party I went to. I am now officially in the red almost 200 dollars. Gotta get on a roll and make LOTS of cards. Little projects, too.

I know what you mean, sista! I need to add $54 to my total because I ordered a ton of stamps for an image swap (well I like the stamps too.) and then I'm going to have to add more next week cause I'm hostessing a SU party and I'm going to get a Big Shot. This is getting really discouraging. :( I really need to hustle and get some stuff made.
this thread and my spending, but I know I am in the red, in a BIG way! Just ordered my Big Shot and lots of stamps and carts! Hopefully I will make it up with all of my new stuff, by the end of the year!

I got a Big Shot at the party I just went to. However, I think that I will be making up for all of that b/c I have offered to make a friend of mine some birth announcements. I made up five or six different cards and gave them to her last night for her to look at. Plus I have a cousin that is expecting. Plus I have entered two spots in a swap and I try to make 8 or so of the cards I put into the swap 6 for the swap, 1 to keep, 1 to share. So I am trying no to get too discouraged.

I'm ordering a Big Shot this week as part of my SU workshop. I'll get a little break though b/c my demonstrator gives us 25% off one item for our birthday and my mom is going to give me money for my bday.
Ryley is doing great - sleep schedule is off (schedule, ha, what schedule?) - but Nick's commander gave him two weeks off to help...we have shifts! I am up late and he gets up early...so may see me on at night beyond when a normal person should be up!
Miss you all and can't wait to be back in the real swing of things!!
Well, I have been added points to my "account" but then spending away!!!! I will update my totals at the end of the month, but I am just over $8 left in my "account" so I better get going - there are some hero arts stamps that I have my eye on and I am sure that there is something else I will find soon that I "NEED" - although I am thankful for this challenge to keep me honest and on track with what I am spending vs what I am actually using and need.... it is very eye-opening!

I have to get going and get some more done. I was doing OK, but just placed a SU order today and went in the red. The sad thing is, I didn't even get any stamps, just paper and ink!
Yea! I turned in the orders from my SU workshop which turned out to be a catalog party instead. That's ok though b/c I ordered a Big Shot. It worked out that I only had to pay $65. I am getting three SAB items, the big shot and a few other things. Woo Hoo! I managed to stay in the black with my totals too.
I am having trouble keeping up. I swear I should have more cards in the card made category, but I think (and I am not thinking to hard) I have spent more then I accounted for. That is my really big problem. Maybe I will go make cards now. What a novel idea.
I LOVE MY UPS GUY!! He delivered my SU order today. Woo hoo! It was right before I had to meet someone for some walking. Of course, I had to take the time to sort thru everything and I opened my Big Shot. I pulled a sheet of cs out of the pack I had ordered because I just had to immediately use it. I quickly ran a piece thru and used the polka dot texture plate. Yeah! I'm off for a quick trip to the grocery store and then back to play some more I hope! I've got three new stamp sets and a SAB paper pack to play with too.
So glad you got your stuff. My order was for a friend's party so I am waiting on her UPS guy to show up at her door and then to get the stuff from her to me (which may take a while b/c she lives like 1 1/2 hours away from me). I am so excited about getting my big shot. I ordered the texture plates and I have been making cards this week and I keep thinking: this card would look great with a textured background. Oh wait, I don't have my Big Shot yet. (groan) I am looking forward to getting the SAB paper pack also.

I got my new stuff yesterday! I am SO excited. My friend brought the stuff to a church meeting we had last night. I got home late, but I unpacked everything and put the stamps together. I am very excited about getting some new stuff to create with. I probably should get off of here and make some new cards. AND post them to my gallery (I am really bad about doing that.)

I placed my SAB order today and actually SPENT some of my earnings! Didn't get anything too exciting - mostly just cardstock and ink, but I couldn't skip SAB this year and my virtual account was burning a hole in my pocket. Plus, I'm going on a business trip tomorrow, so I will get a chance to got to a large Joann's and a LSS or two. Yay!!

Wow Nicole - I am impressed with how good your "counter" is! That's great self control! Have fun on your trip!!!
I just finished up a swap that required making 44 altered tags for a swap and those little suckers took me a long time (dyed & then painted background, stamped & colored bird on nest images, then hand cut and modge podged all those lil' guys...) Anyways, I'm so glad to be done so I can move onto other projects. I'm giving myself $3 for each one because it was so time consuming. That brings me a little closer to being in the black.
I've also been walking a half an hour a day for the last month but I decided that I'm going to allot myself $3 for every hour walked starting with today. I think I deserve a reward for that. Plus I'm ordering a Big Shot next week so I need to do something positive to earn that bad boy!

Hi, everyone.... I'm subscribed to the thread, so I get to see everyone's progress! You are all SO AWESOME. In January, DH and I went on several shopping trips... ditto for February. It was an embarrassment to post a status LOL.
The last time I posted, which was at the end of January, here were the stats:
Earned: $267
Spent: $664.80
Balance: -$397.80
TODAY, I tallied my cards, layouts, and blog posts, against what I've spent (not much) and here are the numbers from the latest balance sheet:
Original Balance: -$397.80,
February - Mid March: Spent $147.80, Earned: $363.00
Current Balance: -$182.60
OK, so I'm not out of the hole yet, but getting there!
I have to say, this has made me much more aware of my spending and made me MUCH more frugal!
Hey! at least you are still in the black. I am just now getting back in the black from being almost $200 in the red. I have been stamping SO many cards, etc.

I haven't posted much. Kind of embarrassed by my total. However, I did buy a Big Shot, which is worth going into the hole for.
I have stayed within my stamping budget, so I guess the problem is not stamping enough.
I am very thankful for this thread, and the spread sheet. It's made me so much more aware of my spending. I'm now much more careful about stopping in at Hobby Lobby, which is on the way to EVERYWHERE. And, if I am there, I'm pretty careful to get only what I went for (usually). My total is not what I want, but I wouldn't even know where I was if it weren't for Stamp-to-Spend. Thanks.
LOL i find myself hustling to finish projects.... and i also find myself avoiding stores untill i'm done crafting. i think cards have been the easiest for me to make quickly, but this card candy is taking forever. Luckily, i have a Michael's gift card from Christmas, so i have $10 when i make the trip to Mike's... so i keep telling myself those are bonus bucks that i can spend regardless of if i finish any projects.

Just popping to say Hi! I have been busy scrapping for March Madness over on the Scrapbook Goals thread. I've done a lot of pages so that has helped my totals. I'm still in the black and been using a lot of my stash.
I will not buy any more paper, I will not buy any more stamps, i will stamp and stamp and stamp and oh yeah scrap until I can see above the stacks waiting for my attention..........I am in the hole big time............
talk about stimulating the economy....

lol. im like around $60 in the hole, but I should be able to catch up with some party invites i have ;)
I decided to give myself $1 for each Wish RAK I grant. I've done lots of them lately and I'm currently ahead $117. It's a good thing because stamp club is tonight and I plan to buy lots of paper.

I so understand and I'm with you girl! I was doing so good the first couple of months, then the clearance sales started; then had to meet minimums; and last but not least these things just jump off the shelf into by buggy.
Cindy at least you are still ahead girl. I have been trying to be good but I am about $8 ahead. I think that I should allow myself more than $1 per card- maybe that would work! LOL.
I'm only about $100 ahead right now and I've got to get my stamp club order in, plus the rubber stamp convention in Akron is next weekend. Oh boy, am I going to be in the hole then! Oh well, it feels better if I look at it as "stimulating the economy"! Thanks for that C-Mouse!
OMG I finally got brave enough to update my siggy. Well, this is one website my husband will never surf. Thank goodness for that. I have been involved in a monthly swap to use up my paper but it looks like I better step it up. I'm actually spending less this year than last year. I'm going to have to get busy making my own embellishments.
Keeping track of my spending and crafting has been mighty educational ... much easier to spend than to create I'm in the hole, but not by much - I have lots of swaps to bump that number up very soon!
I have been trying not to think of these totals.... I am probably scary in the hole - I think I will add it all up today and repost just to make you all feel much better..... stay tuned!

I was amazed when I updated my totals for April. I had been a little in the red for March but didn't spend a thing in April! All the Banquet favors, cards and exercise really added up so I ended up with $104 I can spend (at least hypothetically LOL!) So I celebrated and went shoping, but only spent $19, so I'm still good.
Check out post #42 of the thread - there's an excel workbook there. I modified it for myself - it's a great starting point.
Thanks! I'm going to start doing this. Out of curiosity, do you count when you buy stuff for your birthday gift or with money that you get for Christmas from your in-laws specifically for crafting stuff?

I only count money that comes out of my wallet - not gift cards, etc. I also don't count things that I buy for gifts for others, like my little sister in DSS.
